Maps auto downloader

Hello guys =)
I've been thinking, why isn't there an auto maps downloader?
It's really a pain to download A LOT of maps ):
There should be a program that auto downloads the RAR or something, that keeps downloading a new map that comes out, and updates a map that has been updated.
I would do it, but I really don't know how to program something like that )=

What do you think about the idea?

We had concerns about how the program was written and how it functioned. For example, changing which mirror we use to host files would have required downloading a patch to the program. We tried to talk to him about it, but his Google Translate English made things difficult, and after a while, he stopped answering PMs.

Try searching Russian hacker sites, maybe there's a torrent of it floating around. Of course, the normal caveats apply about viruses.

Another idea,
do you know what SVN is?
I remember I used it a lot for Garry's Mod stuff.
How about you guys make SVN for the portal 2/portal2/maps folder and addons folder?
2 SVNs, the first SVN will be at the maps folder, and will have .BSP files.
The second SVN will be at the addons folder, and will have the .VPK files.

Or simpler option (which is better than nothing),
is making an SVN folder (anywhere, doesn't matter), that will download the .RAR file straight from the site (or any other mirror).
We'll have to install it by ourself, but there's not pain of pressing 600 webpages and downloading one after one.

There would still be the issue of tracking download counts and such.
