On the combine and zombies IMO I think it looks good, but it sprays way too much.
On the antlion guard and hunters i think the dribbling blood effect looks very nice and shouldn't really be changed much.

what do you think?

The best blood splatter system for me was in Tactical Ops. Player was shot, normalish blood spray. But the player would drip blood for a while after he was injured. Not noticably from the model, but he would leave a trail of blood wherever he went. Made following and tracking a little easier.

Not that that really would have helped in HL2. Everything's pretty much "I see you! Oh, you're dead now."

It was one of the first things i noticed that it was more of an actual model than a sprite.

Also, I just came from playing Bioshock, which is not exactly blood-conservative.

I had never played any half life before the orange box.

So plays that first

HL2
HL2 EP1
HL2 EP2

Both HL2 and EP1 I went through on the hardest difficulty. EP2 was on normal just becuase I was lazy.

I'll get around to getting Half life: Source eventually. I'd have played it first if I had it.
