It would be cool to see these "future new tools" with the next version of the Source engine...

"As of May 2011, one of Valve's largest projects is developing new content authoring tools for Source.[1] These will replace the engine's current set of aging tools, which studio head Gabe Newell described as "very painful".[28]"

If it's just an add-on to the old Hammer, then I would think that it would be called "Nails" (Hammer and Nails). If not and if it's completely new, then I'm sticking to "SledgeHammer."

I'm coming up with too many bad for this.

Knowing Valve, it will just never happen.

Like HL2 episodes being released months after HL2.

I feel like Valve doesn't need a creative name and can just call it Hammer 2.0

And they should really update the engine a loooot... if they EVER want to be able to compete with the types of immersive environments you see in games like Bethesda's new RAGE.

I think games need a new kind of engine altogether. The old mesh and texture way takes too much resources if you want it highly detailed.

Yeah, I never figured out how to get the Navigation Mesh to work properly.

I vote for it to be called: "Stanley Kirk Burrell"

Why not call it Chuck Norris? (Sarcasm Italics)

I read this as Stanley Kubrick and my immediate reaction was yes.

We need a heavily doctored version of "Hammer Time" related to the Source SDK...
