Portal 2 Menu No Music

When I first installed Portal 2, there is background music in the menu screen.

For the past few months, the music either does not play at all (most of the times) or it only plays for a fraction of a second. Now, when I am in the menu screen, there is just silence.

Everything else works just fine, and the lack of music is not devastating, but I am just wondering whether everyone else is experiencing this issue.

Interestingly, after I load a map and played it for a while, the music is back once I return to the main menu.

It's been a bug for a while, it happens to everyone.

I cannot imagine it's something that is difficult to fix.

Valve is full of smart people; someone surely knows the solution.

My friend has a Mac and isn't having this problem, so it's probably isolated to the Windows version. For once Windows users got screwed out of something for gaming.

At any rate, I heard on the Steam forums that this was caused by the last update to Portal 2. It's likely that the DLC will come with a new update, so hopefully that update will fix whatever they screwed up with the previous one.

It's caused by Steve Jobs' secret virus.

In fact, I have long suspected that Jobs is actually a Sith Lord.

Since you're already there, make them add an option to keep Wheatley in space even if you play mods (at least, without modding further).

Yeah, I had this problem also. But I don't worry about it.

Forget the nickel, go higher!
Yeah, sometimes it takes them a while to "fix" things.
