I might be able to map, but will i be working with noobs? or people who have experience or what? This being your first post on here makes me nervous
I have been going from place to place, facepunch (got loads of flames there as it seems everyone think garry's gone courupt ever sinch Gmod 10 and so, flaming and personal insults ensued)
myaperturelabs (got hassle from one of those "professionals", though it was a first release and-I admit-it was very plain and bad)
and moddb. which so far is the most accepting.
well, I have about 3 months expirience, but as it was half term, it counts for a lot more. I made the first mod map (about my 7th map I'd made, but the previous was just testing and getting good at mapping) map, knowing I needed to add more, I released it, thinking "ah well. it's better than nothing", which was very wrong (hence why I removed everything)
I have someone who's mapping skills are great and-within a week-they made a great map, 90% what I thought it would look like (a little off, but ah well. it can be corrected later)
I have someone to put in the desks, lights, chairs, basically, to go over it and put in all the tiny details and the wall furniture, which is great as it's one of my weaker skills
I have 3 beta testers, all very useful and-as one's my cousin-all very honest with their judgement
basically, I have the staff to make this mod very good. all I need to do it tell them what goes where. I usually do this by floorplans and rough concept drawings

Mhmm, As the Mod founder you have to do a good chuck of the mod, (I'll say, 15-20%) of the mod file before recurring people. It is also smart to start out with professional pictures (Not pictures with no lighting, Yes I saw your old ModDB page. It was pretty sad, no offense.)
It is also smart to not be the Idea guy of making everything in the "story". Tho, I saw that you map, but you saying in you post
So, don't aspect them to do everything you say, cause I saw a few cases that people like the general concept, but when the leader tells EXACTLY what to do, that is when a mod fails.
Tho, I might be wrong on a few of the comments that are aiming toward you, but those are my thoughts on why most mods tend to fail.
I hope that helps. . .
well, I'm no photographer. I don't know how to do that, at what angle etc.
as we have someone to help with design, this is no longer a problem, and I acknowledge the pictures were bad due to lighting issues. I have since taken steps to make sure that doesn't happen again.
well, I'm not exactly the "idea guy". I do encourage other people's ideas as shown in the moddb forum and the steam community. at this point, we have enough ideas to make this mod last for a year or two, not just a week.
I do encourage individual contributions for the maps. my mapper was alowed to make his own skin for a cube, which'll appear in the game. I do allow contributions, as long as it fits in with the concept of the main core of the map.
and I WILL release this mod
hell, 30-40% of my study leave for school may be spent making this as I don't learn by going over things, but by memory, which is good to an extent.
