Portal Screenshot Contest
Shoot the best Screenshot from Portal or Portal 2!
What's "the best" screenshot? Well, that could be everything. We just want to have a picture, about that we'd say "Wow, that's great!" or something else.
The best screenshot will become the cover for issue 6 of the German Portal Magazin (www.portal-mag.de).
Also, the winner may choose 2 of the following Steam games. The 2nd place may choose one of the remaining games:
- BIT.TRIP Runner
- EDGE
- Machinarium
- RUSH
- Super Meat Boy
- Swords and Soldiers HD
- Toki Tori
- VVVVVV
(The games will be delivered as a Steam gift.)
You may:
- Make screenshots from Custom Maps - so you can create your own background.
- Use "noclip" to get to a better shooting point.
- Send in more than one screenshot - but only your latest picture will participate in this contest!
You must not:
- Edit the picture with a graphic tool.
- Make screenshots from other games than Portal or Portal 2 (e.g. an Aperture Test Chamber in Minecraft).
The screenshots may be released before. Of course, you must make the screenshot yourself, don't take pictures from the internet or somewhere else.
Send in your screenshot until June 23rd, 2012 at 11:59 PM. Send the picture to [email protected] or just post it into this thread.
More information (in German language): http://www.st-gerner.de/portal%2Dmagazi ... 5&seite=14
Hint: You can make screenshots by hitting F12 ingame.
Have much fun and good luck!
I have a higher resolution if you like.
I may or may not post something from one of my own maps later on. There are quite a few places in them that I like and need to poke around at to find the best one.
I don't know if this is allowed or not but I used console commands to add more bloom and depth of field blurring.
Also, you have just hit WinstonSmith, who is a great Machinarium fanboy (or girl? I can't remember.)
As for the contest, I will shortly participate with my own screenshot.
EDIT: Here it is. Screenshot of one map of my upcoming mappack.

I think never having to play any of those games would make a better prize TBH.

I wouldn't say that, Super Meat Boy seems enjoyable.

I really love how this image turned out. Hope the rest of you all like this image as much as I do. It's hard to compete with the rest of them though. Everybody's custom maps look great and I cannot believe that shad0w440's image was taken in-game just by using console commands. That one looks as though it was edited in an actual editor. (This was meant as a compliment.I'm not trying to say "That wasn't taken in game! GTFO!" It's an amazing shot!)
