Wooot! I made my first Portal 2 workshop map.

I would really like to put some cool stuff in this map but I have not used Hammer yet. Im pretty impressed with the Workshop editor so far, its certainly simple but at the same time very functional.

I hope they add more skins and doodads because I would really like to make my map look a lil more coooool. However, its still a good map and its a medium difficulty for experienced players but you dont need to be a portal ninja to do this.

Here is my MAP :

Ring Finger on Steam

Ring Finger Solution on YouTube

If anyone has found any unintended solutions please let me know. (mostly so I can take away easy exploits, any ninja moves will be left in)

Thanks

This is kinda the wrong place to be saying this, I just couldn't find the appropriate thread, but this map was fantastic. I was playing through my queue, breezing through maps that must've taken their owners a few hours to make and then I hit this map that probably only took you 30 minutes to make and I'm stuck for the longest time before I finally figured it out. Total "eureka" moment to solve it, brilliant.

That said, here's my contribution to the thread: Portal Envy

Good evening everyone. New here, but I hope in the coming months I can become a good contributor to the site and the content. I look forward to learning new tricks and such from everyone else. That being said, I have made a few maps and would like some pointers on ways to improve. Here is a link to my workshop:

http://steamcommunity.com/id/Deign/myworkshopfiles/

The first map I made is fairly simple and straightforward but requires some timing and a small change in dynamic not seen in the original maps.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68652811

The second map I decided to combine many ideas into a single map, I fear I may have just made the whole thing too convoluted rather than fun, but I feel the individual levels themselves are decent fun.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68692183

This last map was a bit more of a concept I threw at myself to see what would happen. I had one idea when I started and when I finished, I figured out a better way to complete the level, but it was still fun to do so I kept the possibility in. The level is entirely solved using gels and only gels, which I remember being some of the more fun maps from the game. Especially levels with the white gel (name escapes me at the moment).

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=69129791

I look forward to your constructive criticisms and hope to use it to improve my ideas and expand my horizons. If anyone else has some nice maps that demonstrate some really cool and unique concepts, I would love to play around with them as well. Thank you again and have a nice rest of your day =)

This is my first map ever. It could be a lot better but you have to start somewhere.

I've already made two maps of decent size in Portal 2 SDK, and, I must say, mapping is fun!
I try to add new non-standart methods that were'n revealed in original Portal 2.
Hope you'll enjoy it!
From Russia with love

And I'm going to create lots of maps. Please check out my first map and leave your comments! Thanks in advance!

I would love to know what you think of my Ring Finger lpfreaky90

By the way. If anyone wants to take my map and do stuff to it in Hammer please feel free, just give credit etc
(to allow others to edit it would I need to upload the actual bsp to TWP?)

Right men, those Mantis Men are on the prowl again and you're here to stop them! We've built this stupidly hard lazer chamber for you to stop those stupidly hard Mantis Men. Turns out they love testing as much as Caroline. So as long as you keep failing this test, that'll keep those Mantis Men at bay. So off you go, just try solve this one.

The first chamber I've published in the workshop isn't fantastic. Mostly because I decided to have huge ambitions and, as a result, used too many entities for the system to handle - I had to cut out about half the lights I wanted to use and as a result the chamber is a little dark in places. Furthermore, the final puzzle is a teensy bit too small for the room it's in.

Still, I felt I should share it here. I know there's one place you can get stuck, but aside form this I think this chamber is bug-free. And I /would/ fix that one bug if only I had one more entity...

Leap of Improbability

Description
This is a small test chamber with two advanced flinging challenges. It's very difficult, but it's possible to get to the end! Do you have what it takes?

Download Link:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=70319100

This test chamber contains a flinging trick that I'm sure of many people don't know. Maybe if you're a Portal Ninja who has been trained in the art of Portal flinging from all the custom Portal 1 maps you stand a chance. So are you a lemon, or a Portal Ninja?

My first steps with the editor lead to this little creation:

"Mind the gap"

Laserfields, lightbridges - and a small zoo just for kicks.

This should be easy for seasoned players.

Beginners should remember two things: F6 quicksaves the game. And: If at first you don't succeed, you don't really fail, GLaDOS was just messing with you.

Speedway Corridor

Download: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68524338

It's pretty much ctf_2fort with a puzzle inside. A lot of backtracking, so I put speed gel on the bottom corridors, hence the name.
