Regarding spam bots

Hey everyone;

lately we've been having a lot of spam bots on this site; we've been actively banning them and for a few days we disabled the signups for these forums; hoping to see them leave. Yesterday we re-enabled the signups again; resulting at a bunch of spam bots logging in to the site again.

We're actively looking for ways to prevent spam bots more, but until we install some new features to do that, we feel that we need to keep the signups closed.

We'll keep you posted on this thread.

What if the majority of the post is written in whatever language we see spambots write in, it would be deleted immediately and the "user" would be banned. (Just a random idea for a prevention method.)

Did you just enable signing up and these spambots started again with their gibberish? This is amazing. They're probably computers and not humans.

Quite weird. Mr. Cavey doesn't like witchcraft, but this is worse.

Lol. True, it is pretty weird =)

But yeah, normal Captchas should do the trick

derpderpderp! We seem to have an invasion of spam bots again at the moment; I've deleted over 20 threads and banned the same amount of people; but yeah; this really has to stop. :S

It's quite amusing to see what different kinds of neurodigging the spambots think of.
