VANSULLI EDIT: NOT A VALVE ARG: SEE HERE.
**Coppermantis Counter-Edit: That doesn't prove anything, yet. **

Quote from elsewhere:

A few days ago, an update to HL2 changed the language of the game to Korean for all players. Since the update was released on the anniversary of the start of the Korean War, netizens suspected that the "bug" was intentional and the start of a new Valve ARG (in the same vein as the Portal 2 radio event). That day, a tweet was made on the official Steam support twitter account.

Steam Support ‏@Steam_Support

WARNING: The most recent HL2 update has some issues. We're working to fix this, you can pause the update for now. 예측하지 못한 결과에 대비하라...>

The text translates to "prepare for unforeseen consequences."

A straight denial that an ARG was under way was made by a Valve employee shortly after the tweet was twut. That employee was lying.

The game Surgery Simulator received some DLC, and in it, under a TF2 medic statue, was... more Korean, this time attached to what's obviously a puzzle to be solved.

The "Prepare for unforeseen consequences" line is obviously from Half-Life 2: Episode 2, but I don't know what the significance of the Korean is. As much as that particular G-man quote would make me think, the cynic in me says that it's probably related to DotA or TF2.

EDIT: People are hard at work solving things already.

I think its Surgeon Simulator trolling for more playtime. PC Gamer had a joke that was interpreted as ARG-esque about the same time and they had to come out and flat-out apologize to prevent people from going crazy over it.

They could be lying. It seems odd that a) There was an update to HL2 to make everything Korean
b) There is more Korean on a TF2 item in this Surgeon game and c) The line itself is from The Half-Life series.

Let me at least believe that this will be something cool, damnit.

I'm fairly certain none of the messages in Surgeon Simulator are from Half-Life. The tweets they're sending out sound like they're disappointed everybody jumped to Valve.

What else did they expect when literally every part of this so far is related to Valve in some way or another. Unforseen Consequences is undeniably a HL2 quotation. Even if it is just related to surgeon simulator, it was awfully silly of them to use so much Valve stuff for their own pseudo-ARG.

Valve also said that "Making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about..."

Nothing to suggest that this is related, but it could be interesting to see what exactly is meant by this.

Remember it was in Korean. It could also be translated into English as something like "be ready for unexpected results," as that image pointed out, which wouldn't necessarily have anything to do with Episode 2.

Ugh. There's no ARG. It's just dumb people looking for connections where there are none. Valve has flat out denied it's an ARG from numerous fronts and the Surgeon Simulator people themselves tweeted it was not valve related.

Fine, fine. I was very excited, but you had to ruin it for me.

Oh well, I suppose that my hype clouded my judgement.

Still somewhat interested on what Valve says is coming on Wednesday, but that's related to the Trading Cards somehow.
