The ThinkingWithPortals Map Showcasing Thread

Art test I threw together in a few minutes. I'll get something more complex looking later, for now this is just a proof-of-concept.
EDIT: Kinda a lackluster post to be #1000. Here's a bonus image:

Nope. But I do love my PS1. Only console with a toilet lid.
You should try it, it's one of the best puzzle games I've ever played (I completed it myself alone without any hint... 170 levels!! I ended up completely nuts!)

I love it as well (and never sold it so far
)
One side of the main room:

The other side:

And the secondary room, my personal favorite:

My feeling is that they don't feel...finished enough? Mainly the area in the the first screenshot, the others are alright.
EDIT: sorry, for my mistake. I'm not sure why it's a bit boring looking.
Hey! Thought I'd drop in a tease for a new texture pack I'm building. The only gripe I have right now is dealing with a new version of Photoshop that doesn't want to work with the NVidia plug-in, thus making this texture a bit too bumpy at the moment.

I'm taking a short break from the destroyed maps map-pack, and so I made this quick co-op map in the "sort-of-clean-but-bits-are-missing" style. 'Mass and Velocity Course' theme I guess.
Looking great!
Though pic no.3 maybe looks a bit PTIish, even thought it wouldn't be created in the editor
(thing I believe so much
)
Cheer up! I'll be looking for the release to play it!

Yeah, if there's one thing I hate doing it's making Hammer maps look PTIish. That's why I like destroyed style maps
Progress:
gtest01redux0005.jpgAdd some 'dye' to the 'fabric' for some style points...

Hmm, those are some neat looking textures! I can't imagine where they'd be useful in Portal 2, though, but evidently you've found a place for them
Also, this fabric is approved by the State of California, so you won't be dying of cancer like J.J. Jameson... I mean, like Cave Johnson did.
