I'm not doing much maps in authoring tools now, but I will want to make one for the next contest...

The thing is I dont check this page everyday and I want to know when could be the contest, if there were somewere where I can give my email and it gives me a message when the contest is gonna be, it would be awesome.

I just don't whan to notice there is a contest and it's already half-way.

Probably later this year, sometime in the summer.

There was this one guy who asked us if we could host a competition and they could give the prizes, but nothing came from that.

Don't expect any competition soon guys.

No more competitions? oh man I liked so much last one. I even don't care if they give prices, just the exitement of being 7th or 3rd place is awesome. oh man... I think I will never use the authoring tools again...

It is a tad bit disappointing though, I probably won't ever build Ode to Turrets II without a good reason to.

I know I might open it in the future to do 1 or 2 things but... like using it seriously? hmm...

Why don't you guys use the authoring tools for fun? to experiment with it and find new aesthetical incitement, new worlds, a lot of things that haven't done yet and you won't ever do with the PTI puzzle creator? Come on, be creative!

I don't see why you would never use the authoring tools again for reasons such as not having a contest. Like josepezdj said, you could use it for fun or to experiment with things. I use it to derp around and occasionally, come up with interesting test elements. This is just my personal opinion though.

Yeah, use it for fun if you have plans for maps. You can't make a map once a year. (But if you want, you can organize a fake contest yourself without rewards and things, just ratings, it doesn't really matter).

I see what you mean by having a map plan to make for a contest because it's your best concept, though if you make it before the next contest, it can't join the contest. But just wait and see.

There are some PeTI mapping contests that happen once a week, and one of the groups mentioned that they would have some Hammer only competitions. The group is here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/mapping_challenge

yeah... I understand what you guys say use it for fun but, I've already had that fun, i've experimented and that, and it is much time consuming... Soon i'll start university, and well...

But I will make a map for the next contest, because this contest are the ones I like, i'm sorry I didn't understood right, english is not my native.

I hope the next contest will be quite notorious so more people can notice and participate.
