...Brilliant. This is coming from someone who absolutely detests turrets, too.

Are you not participating in the contest?

Because i noticed you did not supply your source files (wanted to take a peek at your entry elevator)

I am taking part in the contest.

I thought I'd copied the VMF into the zip when I uploaded it. After mapping for 4 days straight I then went to bed sure that everything was in working order.

Imagine my surprise when I get up this morning and somebody's asking "you're in the contest, right?"

So now I've had to put the VMF as a sperate link (see the first post). But I'm probably going to get disqualified which totally sucks because I poured a lot of time into this.

TWP has a big policy with uploading everything, and I mean everything you post that's not an image to the site. The contest asked for them to be in one .zip file, so if you uploaded seperate you might have broken the rules.

Well I'd put them back into the same Zip but they won't let me edit the file so what else am I supposed to do?

Ah man that sucks bigtime....

I tried searching for some other contact info to let you know but couldn't find any and now it's to late...

But then again... Your map (the .bsp file) was uploaded in time... they only wanted the source files to check if you didn't add/create custom content. So i'm assuming the source files are only necesarry if they suspect you broke the rules.

Ask one of the admins... they should be able to see that the dates on both the .bsp file you submitted and the .vmf file are the same...

It's probably OK. like you said I got the BSP in it's my fault for now downloading it (or opening the zip on my desktop) to make sure the BSP had copied.

It's 'cuz my main drive is solid state but my data drives are RAID0. So they constantly have weird issues zipping things across drives. But yeah the VMF is out there on my Motion9Studios website if they need proof. I didn't use any instances. I made the elevator rooms mostly from scratch.

Ambivalent. On one side, it's 3 huge interconnected chambers (+1 story finale!) in high detail; on the other, I'm not completely sold on the delivery.

It's decay style with parts of clean & old aperture, plus wheatley's outer space: kind of clashing imo. Puzzles too have the boon of backtracking with old items, but there's nothing which requires much thinking: the main puzzle is turret killing. Possibly, it doesn't meet its full potential.

I must say I enjoyed the visual style, with the wide, open chambers and the checkered black & white walls in some parts, with the main focus on orange and brown hues. It was a very unique and distinctive look, which a lot of custom chambers are lacking.

As for the puzzle side of things, I did feel it was a bit too focused on dispatching turrets, without much creative use of portals. The gel part was fun, though it had me stuck for a bit on how to get the gel onto the targets after I had already moved them into position. The dialogue was fresh and interesting, if only because nobody has yet used those clips in their maps. =/

So yah, pretty good, especially the way the chambers linked together, but it needs more portal.

I'm really enjoyed with that.
You give some freedom to the player, so i had fun finding a fast route through the map!

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

The title sounds like the map looks: unpleasant. This Chinese menu of textures and styles was an eyesore. It starts with a small puzzle in a huge room, followed by a small puzzle in small rooms (with jumping through portals with lasers, yuck), followed by the same small puzzle in the huge room. The finale is a surprise which I completely missed because I was out the exit before I knew they were throwing a party.
This map manages to be both too much and not nearly enough at the same time. 3/5 from me.
