I'll add teleports when falling in the water to avoid restarting the whole map again if you find it too difficult ...

I haven't been able to figure out what to do, once you're past the first "checkpoint". Looks very promising, though!

Hmm i won't spoil it all, but here's a little hint :

Blue paint can be used on wall : just stick to the wall and press jump, you'll jump with a nice angle.

Hey there.

Nice map. Good puzzles so far, but Iam stuck now.
First map where I cant finish... now I just want to know what's the prob here:

How to get there?

- the jumping-gel is on the wall (right side)
- and I think I have to jump over there (into the orange portal)
- then I would use the hard-light bridge and get to the other side
=> but i cant jump over there... I just die all the time -.-

or am I totally wrong?

bugs
- i tried to use the hard-light bridge at the orange portal (see screenshot above)
- then I tried to use one of the cubes as a stair, but the cube has fallen down into the acid
=> cubes cant stay on the platforms -.-

Edit:
I have read your spoiler above, and now I believe it is the right way.
But it does not work. o.O

You're quite there

Hint :

It's not the hard-light that you've gotta use ...

Updated a new version with the checkpoints ... less frustrating i think.

ahhhh
Got it now. Thanks for the hint.
I was not thinking about using it this way.

I have finished your map now.
Really nice map and good puzzles. Was fun to play it.

p.s.: Should I make a video how I solve it?

Edit: I think I found a alternative solving for last room.
=> I have recorded a video and will cut, render and upload it, so you can see.

Hehe good job : for the paint jump : you could simply jump and create the funnel on your left directly

I noted the shortcut at the end (good job spotting it), modified the map to force the player to solve it the way i intended.
Thanks for the feedback!

By the way : what's the problem with the catapults in your vid ? i don't have the glitches at home ... do you have them on all the maps ?

Very good map! What are the cube in the "basement" used for? the one trapped in a cage. I found no use for that one.

It's not mandatory, it just help you not having to switch the cube, you're right i should probably remove it, it's a leftover of an aborted idea ...

Yeah, I noticed that too, when I watched the video after recording.

ok, good to know it really was a shortcut.

I dont have this problem on the standard portal 2 maps, but I saw it often on user maps.
I dont know how to solve that problem. Maybe you will find an answer in this forum.
(I dont have this problem on all user maps!)

Edit: dont worry, I will update my video soon.

Well... the puzzles on this map are really cool...
BUT
I really dislike solutions like yours in the second part of room 1.
Explanation
To get through this little grid... well... please get some better ideas for that

If you would leave this out or re-edit it this map would be a real nice one.

Ok, in the next release there will the an arrow pointing up to show you the grid all i can do right now, working on a coop one. I'll try and avoid "finding little hole" thing in next maps, promised.

Yeah, that part is a bit to boring...

suggestion 1
- I would enjoy a catapult instead of the grid
- you would have to make the small corridor bigger and remove both grids
- landing at the top (where you already placed the sign to "land" after catapult)
- just try to avoid the possibility that player can jump down to this room with the gel

suggestion 2
- I would enjoy the jumping gel placed on two wall facing each other instead of the grid
- you would have to make a room and 2 portal places, to get the walls marked with gel
- just try to avoid the possibility that player can jump down to this room with the gel,
before he reaches it with the funnel!

Would love to see any of these two suggestions instead of the actual way it is.
Altough, you already know it: great map, dude!

Yep ok, i'll think about something like that ... but at this point i have no way to getting the paint down there ... but i'll figure out.

Yeah, certainly do something about the grate. That's not a good way to do it IMHO. Maybe just make a huge shaft, but with the death lasers covering it. Something to make it more obvious.

Also, the last step in the last room, my solution was to shoot the funnel beam at the far end, then use residual gel next to the button to get on top of the rail and jump in the beam. It looks like you may have wanted to avoid that solution with the extra blocks you placed, but it didn't entirely work. I think that last bit is a little difficult to figure out, so maybe just remove a few blocks to make the gel thing an alternate solution.

Also ran into a bug where the gel kept flowing even with the box on the funnel. Couldn't reproduce it, but when I stepped on the gel button and off again it fixed itself.

Hi.

This map was great, not really difficult (except for that second hidden grid, I hated it ^^ but I see you're gonna put an arrow, I agree wit that) but difficult enough for me to enjoy it. It may be a little too easy for some people though since I'm not a really fast puzzle solver but I won't talk for others ^^

Definitely enjoyable, the interactions with the first map were great, it was a good work of level design.
Thank you for it.

This was a great map- Really fun to solve! Though, I'll note that I used neither repulsion gel nor the funnel for that puzzle just past the first checkpoint. I did technically use the former, but not in the intended manner.

To elaborate- I used the repulsion gel just below the pipe to jump across to the light bride, then just opened a portal there and used the light bridge to solve that puzzle.

It's a good solution for those of us that don't have good control with portals, though. xD

What was wrong with the grate part? It was fairly easy to find for me and was a big "Aha!" moment once I did find it.

Most of us don't look up. xD Besides, even when we do, you can only see the surface if you move back- I didn't spot the surface at all at first, though I wondered as to the purpose of the grate.

I solved the middle a different way that I think you may want to change.

Instead of using the repulsion gel on the wall, above the platforms that raise up, I was able to get the light bridge down there which makes it much easier than the wall jump mechanic.

Here's how it is done:
If you use the faith plate to hop into the tractor beam, you can immediately hop out down onto a square with repulsion gel on it and land on the light bridge. This allows you to leave one portal down below and use the other to extend the light bridge. Just increase the distance between the light bridge/ repulsion gel square/tractor beam and I think that should solve this problem.

Sorry, no pics because I'm not at home.

Edit: Great map!

Indeed, the difficulty of spotting the grate was the only bad point of the map for me. I hope to see more maps from you in the future!

This is exactly the kind of map that I hate, where learning is through trial and death. I'll rate it zero for encouragement.

interesting design idea for using the first room many times, could use some info_placement_helpers and a bit better direction though. Good map though.

Great map. With such a title I was expecting a map with hard manips, but in fact the manips are simple once you find out the solution (which is not too easy or too hard to find). That's what makes a great portal map in my opinion

I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:
