Description

These are the 1st and 2nd puzzles in a series I'm working on called "The Forsaken Chambers", which takes place in an old facility of the more 'elite' testing initiatives. Puzzles will usually contain few elements, but you will have to use the hell out of them to solve it. For those who followed these maps in [WIP], nothing new here - just the Easter Egg in map 002 that I mentioned in the previous thread. Now that my finals are done I should 'actually' be uploading more content. School/work/life takes up so much time T_T I will give cake to the first person who reaches the Easter Egg in map 002 without cheats / glitches. This task requires ninja skills of an elite variety. (will not actually give cake. That is logistically difficult) --- Feedback is very much welcome! Please don't hesitate to criticize / praise, as well as share solutions (hidden, of course) to help out your fellow testers. They also help me know how people are solving this / not solving it. -- Workshop Links -- http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=71526483 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=72035153 I've yet to see support for multi-map uploads :< Hopefully that comes around in time -- v1.5 -- Fixed a texture error in the second map. The BSP's in the zip file are exactly the same as the workshop links; thus, there is no more auto-transition like before (due to the way Workshop maps must close). You will have to load each map individually

Haven't played the WIP version and didn't expect such a killerpuzzle in the 1st map. Took me ages to find out how to correctly open the first door. Great stuff. The 2nd map was awesome too but I solved it much faster.
I like the looks! Always happy to see someone using other textures than those standard grey walls. Somehow this reminds me of the lava levels in super mario
All in all I give it a 5/5 because of that awesome puzzle in the 1st map.

About the easter egg: Is it possible to reach anytime?

Easter Egg
No, it is not possible to reach the Easter Egg at anytime. It is only accessible AFTER the platform in the right-hand chamber falls - there are Player Clips in place to prevent access before this event.

You can reach it at any point after the event though - I just didn't want there to be anyway to abuse the immediately available platorm/cube/funnel for easy access to the prize.

Thanks for the input! Much obliged

Hahah, I wandered into the first puzzle thinking "Oh, I've seen this before, it must be a re-make"... not so, cool puzzle! (despite the timers!) Thanks

So has anyone got the Easter Egg or has any ideas? If it's in the area to the right, the only way to get there I thought of (but wasn't able to execute) was to stand on one of the upper ledges of the map right above the only portable surface in the middle, place one portal below and one on the far wall behind you (if you're facing the right part of the chamber). With the correct placement, it will send you flying back into the downward portal, so before you hit it, you can place a portal on the far away wall in front of you (in the right part of the chamber), which in turn will send you flying into the same portal below. And I guess theoretically, while your're flying out of that wall you could place a portal on the floor of the broken area to the right of you while mid-air, but practically I couldn't do all three moves.

LMAO at that random song starting... listen to the text ;D and then the cube blocked me perfectly in time :D

For some reason I get "this video is private" message and can't watch it.
EDIT: Nevermind, just saw it

Easter Egg
The buttons are not supposed to do anything. Originally, I was going to have them do things, but then it didn't work out like I wanted :/. So I added sparks to give the impression that the chamber was non-functional.

As to the solution you posted, congratulations! That is the method I intended for reaching that area.
Cake!

Puzzle 3 is being polished, should be posted soon.

Very well-designed and though puzzles.

Quick question: for chamber one, is it normal that I had to use a cube toss (from the place which you can desactivate the fizzler, tossing the cube to the funnel going to the press plate to open the final door). Or is there a more elegant solution?

EDIT: BTW, for those who have trouble in executing Markiu solution to get to the Easter Egg, there is a variant a bit less difficult, albeit less elegant and more cumbersome. First make sure you put a cube anywhere on the overhanging beam close the the left chamber. Then do the jump as Markiu but instead of having to shoot the portal midair just in the right place, you can shoot it anywhere on the portable wall that give access to that beam. Then portal back from where you landed to the beam (you know have a portal on each beam). From the left beam it is possible to put a portal on the wall from which you fly into the left chamber and to jump into that portal, with the help of climbing on the cube first, back onto the right-handed beam. The rest is like Markiu, although the portal on the wall from which you fly to the left-chamber will not be right in the middle, so you'll have to strafe right but it is possible to reach the funnell if it is put close enough. On the other hand, I haven't managed to jump into a portal close enough to the center without the cube
