I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.

Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVBieBLue6s

The intended way of solving was to
align all the lasers through the diagonal walls. Using
another portal to align the laser on the plateau. I might fix it to
make the roof a non-portal surface.

Rename the map to Robocop Laser Trip.

A++ would play with an over-the-limit blood alcohol content again. Lots of thinking with portals. Loved it!

Really good. Tricky, but it's never a question what you need to do, only how to do it.

Just out of interest, did anyone complete the puzzle the way I intended?

I reckon I should do something like that in my next map. It's not hard to design puzzles that introduce unique solving methods, I just wasn't aiming for that at the time.

Two egregious chambers about multilasers. 1st is a 60 secs matter, 2nd bagged us 20 mins because the last laser missed the spot by 1 inch (the floor one). If the same happens to you, keep circling around it until you hit the right angle so the laser output is 1 inch lower:

That should be fixed: you get that one wrong, it's 20 mins of painstaking multilaser tries (ungh).

Was this a correct way to solve it?

I've done a playthrough of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gliuTnXU0I

Like previously said, I had a somewhat similar problem with the second puzzle just being a matter of annoying portal placement, also that I kept on accidentally clicking my mouse, trapping us from the second room and forcing us to do the first puzzle about 4 times -_-

It seems that most of you are either exploiting the roof or spending ages getting the pedestal portal right. Interesting.

Redunzl and I believe we solved this map the way you intended. No portals through the ceiling, in any case. The cube in the little side hall of the first room would not sit under the laser if we tried to carry it there. It would push out of the way every time, like there was a trigger_push. It did stay in place when we pushed it into position. Unfortunately, that's a really crappy way to aim a laser.

The first puzzle was ho-hum. The second one was a little better. It ended up being like so many other laser puzzles, a trial and error fest. The looks were dull, but we saw no particular problems like misaligned textures, which is tough to do with angled walls. Overall, we give it 3/5.
