Description
My first map ever. I had absolutely no experience in Hammer before this, and I learned quite a lot making it. It is pretty short as it has only one puzzle in it. It seems to have some problems loading some of the objects :S Just restart the map if you cannot see some objects. UPDATE: - Added more light to the puzzle room. - Some small fixes.

WOW! It's just.. WOW!
Very nice design, nice puzzle, maybe it's need end and some lights. But this map is very nice.

Pretty cool little level, pretty sure I made it to the end...
The room with GLaDOS is the end right?
Yes, that's the end for now. I'll probably make a longer version in the future. (And thanks to the replies here, a brighter one aswell)
Yeah, my roommate saw me playing and it reminded him that ID software announced they are making a new game (developers of doom 3...)
very nice desing. rememberes at "Maybe Black Mesa" but i dont play it now cause it dont want to solve a map that seems to be good in darkness..... pls add light in the puzzlepart
Glados? I didn?t see or hear Glados. I just fell into an empty room and wondered "this is the end, isn?t it?"
Apart from that a cool map, especially the atmosphere.
Thanks
Whoa, a map which takes things differently! What are you, some kind of Che Guevara?
Very interesting, I would take this over a story mode The Unknown any day. But graphics look like HL1. Goddamnit I was sure the kid from F.E.A.R. would jump at me in the dark parts.
really nice too, the glados room was a nice touch too(though a fade-out would have made it more clear that its the end)
BUT but, the maze part was a little too long in my opinion. This game is portal, not "find the exit"
at least distribute the mazes between test chambers, or make a maze which needs the gun to solve
I tried to launch the map using "map hajuzzasmap" in the console twice; Portal 2 crashed both times.
It would have been fun... if you could see anything. I couldn't be bothered anymore once I got to the first proper puzzle section, a shame really since it seemed fun in terms of gameplay.
Nice start at mapping and a good concept, but agree maybe a little too dark. It also had no end - so I presume you are planning more after the last room with the pit? Thanks for mapping.
I couldn't see much for a good portion of this. Quit in frustration when I dropped into a room and couldn't find a way out. That was in the largish chamber with the tower of companion cubes in the middle. Just too dark. Recommend you check out Sequential for ideas on how to keep your map dark, but not so dark it becomes frustrating. http://forums.thinking.withportals.com/downloads.php?view=detail&df_id=336
I would love to say something about your map but it crashes portal 2 on my mac. I could let you see the core dump, if that helps
I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzosvHdU57U
Definitely needs a few more lights, even in the pre-puzzle section, kept thinking something was going to leap out at me! But the puzzle its self was good, putting the laser cube you can't get before the one you can as a red herring always adds a nice 'ah ha!' moment when you work it out!
Also, based on the odd effect of the glass at the end of the level, you might need to add (more?) cube maps.
So many custom maps are way too dark. I don't know why. This one is quite ridiculously dark.
Fun! I was a bit confused, since the final room had absolutely nothing in it for me. I watched that lovely Youtube playthrough and at least got to see what I was missing, though.
Map has promise and I like the fact that its different, but... I felt it was way too dark in the non-puzzle areas. I know its for effect, but it makes what should be the basics frustrating. It took me quite a while to find button to open door as well as to find the portal gun. I will say that the lighting in the actual test chamber was about right and I liked the fact that the obvious cube was not accessible at first.
What's with the ending - worst ending ever! Pretty fun map but you seriously need lights - I almost gave up twice, would have certainly if I wasn't at work and had nothing else to do, lol!!
A good puzzle is hard and fun even with the lights on
This map was an adventure. A very dark adventure. I wish I knew enough about mapping to fix the lighting problems in this. Add in the fact that I never saw GlaDOS at the end, and what should have been a beautiful map was ruined.
Without the problems, this would have been an easy 5/5. With the problems, it gets just 3 from me, because it definitely needs work.
Please take the time to fix this one! I think it's worth the effort.
There is a line you can cross with lighting where you go from creating atmosphere to mainly being a hindrance to the player, unfortunately that line is crossed here. The layout itself is great, just needs a few light sources tweaked.
I had fun testing this one. I portaled my way outside the map, got trapped in the refraction cube respawn and even got inside the crowded nonfunctional elevator. It was fun but too dark. Seriously throw in some lighting. I have to spam portals just to see where the floors and walls end.
