Description
This is a one of tha maps from my soon to be released "A box of dimensions" coop campaign. It was supposed to be the first part but because of some technical difficulties i isolated it into this. Update : forth and last version, all glitches fixed. (version 3 was completely broken) Its a 2 test chamber map with the second chamber being the highlight. it uses world portals and is particularly difficult.

Is the second part of this level even possible? Been stuck for like an hour, could OP PM me solution?
Cheers,

Me and my coop partner played through all the map blind in 30:18.02 minutes. Gonna render the video within the next days and upload it on next Wednesday.
Hint: The laser may create small "pipes" if you hit the right targets. Those pipes may open a way for the second player (world portals). It took us some time to realize this, too
Some really devious stuff in there - took us about an hour to get through the whole thing. Some excellent level design as well - lots of attention to detail and the sections between puzzles are nice. The world portal idea is very well done. Also liked your approach to save points - works great.
I would really love to see a video walkthrough for this map. Me and my coop partner totally glitched the 2nd part of the map. Well, not exactly 'gltiched' per se, but we missied out half the elements of the puzzle.
So, those pipe things open a world portal? Huh, we never even used it. We actually WALKED on the pipes and managed to get to a button which gave us a 2nd cube from the vent. With just the 2 cubes we managed to get the laser into the final goal (by using our 4 portals and both holding the cubes) for the exit and since it stays open, we were through.
We literally didn't use half of the puzzle elements in the last room (in fact, less than half), I think this map needs more playtesting.
The map looks amazing, I will say that, very professional and well made.
Looking forward to the mappack.

How the hell did the player in the small rooms even reach the exit if you never used the world portals?
My guess is you were just trying too hard to glitch the level because its not that broken.
I will fix as much as i can anyways. You should play this again because you didnt do anything you were supposed to.
This map 'looks' awesome. This visuals were astounding, but in saying that you went a bit overboard with the complexity of the 2nd puzzle. Seems like you just tried to draw out the playtime of a simple puzzle by making it more tedious. There was no aha moment when we solved this. We knew what do, it was just arduous to do it. The flinging with the flippy panel was very hard because the fizzler was to high etc etc.
But overall I liked it, interesting use of world portal. Noticed a few bugs but they didnt really effect the gameplay at all. Good map 4/5!

I can assure you we were not 'trying' to glitch the level, but we spent a long time on the last part and couldn't think of what to do.
I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

Third and final update. Fixed all exploitable glitches and test signs are working again.
god damnit people. An unfinished version of the map was uploaded for a week now. And out of the 300 of you who downloaded it, no one said anything. Uploading complete version now.

Fixed
The setting for these maps was fantastic, with the BTS areas as good as any in the original game. We liked the Ratman's Den. The switchable world portals are a clever idea, but a clearer indication of their activation and connections might help. It's easy to miss them at first because of the delay between the activation step and the opening of the portal. The changing elements in the room made finding the solution a challenge, and that's a compliment, not a criticism.
One fatal bug: we got trapped beneath the reversible platform and had to noclip out from under it. It needs a player clip under the panel.
We didn't like the invisible fizzler next to the first laser cube dropper.
We had great difficulty flinging to the highest button. For some reason, our player orientation coming out of the horizontal panel (the one raised by the sphere) was constantly changing, making it impossible for us to place the portal for the fling. We may have not seen the intended solution. We noclipped to the button after many, many failed attempts.
This map came very close to earnng a 5 from us. The fact that we got stuck due to a flaw in the map and wasted a lot of time trying to make the flings detracted from the overall fun, so we give it a 4/5.
EDIT: After two more hours of trying, we were not able to execute the fling to the highest button. Our method
Red portal on outer horizontal panel.
Press button, blue+purple auto-accelerate, fire yellow.
Try to hit blue and purple on way down from ceiling.
Just not enough time on way down to make the shots, mainly because you are going up so fast you have no time to aim on the way up.
hi there,
this is my first posting here although i used this site for finding custom maps since a few weeks or months. first of all in general: 95 % of the maps i played were really good stuff and i enjoyed playing.
but now about this map. i played it with a buddy of mine today and we made it to the end but i'm somehow sure that the final step to solve it was not intended so i thought the author may be happy when i post this to help him fix this glitch. i'll write the whole text in spoiler...
i'm talking about the very end of the whole map. i was the one who was locked in the small rooms all the time, which are connected by those weird white gates.
What we did in the end was to incline one of the laser cubes by stacking it onto the radio from the hidden room so the laser beam would be redirected at an angle pointing downwards. Now the side that stood on the radio was just high enough to reach ist by pointing the laser directly into the room containing the receiver and then redirecting it at the inclined cube. Once the reciever was activated the beam could be removed and we were able to leave the room.
This seems unlikely to be the right solution, but we could find no other way, since the windows of that room were to high to reach the receiver in another way. Using the word portals seemed not helpful either, since they're only activated by the laser itself.
i made a screenshot of it afterwards and uploaded it, so its maybe easier to imagine what i mean even if the riddle is already solved at the point of capturing it - you might get the concept.

btw we still have no idea how to solve the end in the intended way (if there is another)
hope this is helpful

Yeah...that was sort of an after thought because people didnt use the intended "coop" solution of passing the cube. Kind of lazy on that

The thing is that it is possible to make that quick shot (even though i admit its very hard) but for those who cant do i made the horizontal panel bigger. That way you can place 2 portals on it and jump back and forth so you can take your time to shoot the right portal. Didn't you find it suspicious that that panel was so big? But still its me to blame, i admit that that map was too devilishly hard..
I greatly appreciate the feedback though
and sorry i didnt respond sooner.
P.S. That map was my second ever so i hate to use the rookie card but i promise that next one will be much better and more polished.

Oh man you made me laugh. I never, not in a million years, expected someone to use the freakin radio to solve the puzzle but...there you go. The expected solution was to (like you though) get the laser through the gates and into the receiver. You have 3 seconds after the laser goes off for the gates to go off. But i dont blame you, it was a hard to realize it. Actually i say congrats for using the damn radio. That has to be the most clever problem solving i've ever seen. So funny...
P.S. Thanks a lot for the feedback and for posting an image of the exploit. I appreciate it.
My Friend and I have all three mirror cubes yet we can not figure out how to get the laser into the final room?? Final laser switch? Any help?

Use the portal doors to get the laser to the final room. It only needs to activate the receiver for a second.
Hey can someone please post a play through of this map? There is only one video on you tube and its from the oldest version. Thanks.
Okay I don't know what's wrong with this map.
Your hint is worth nothing for me, unfortunately. There is only ONE BUTTON a player can push and that one moves some pipes, nothing else, you can't go anywhere. Either this is a bug or we are too stupid.
