Description

All feed back is highly appreciated. The actual puzzles themselves are 99% finished (the 1% being bugs people may find). Its not meant to be the hardest or longest, Just a nice intuitive puzzle. I do support feed back but I do not plan on making it much more difficult. Update #1 Fixed several bugs in the second puzzle that allowed you to skip most of it. Fixed the laser so they shouldn't be causing any more lag. Update #2 Fixed broken door in puzzle two. Added Cube respawn in puzzle two in case it gets stuck. Added hints and finished setting prop_details. Removed some unnecessary foliage. Fixed some shortcuts in the puzzles. Update #3 Cleaned up light and textures and added some more visual detail.

The second chamber is very well done, which by comparison puts to shame solutions such as these:

Also needs some dotted lines and a cube dispenser, as you can lock yourself out of the panel room in chamber 2. Furthermore, it's easy to just portal yourself to the exit:

I dont think its intended as I skip quite a lot of the rooms :d
I was trying to type out what I had done, but couldn't word it very well.
So, I made a video.

One problem for me was that I didn't know what the buttons where doing.
Would be nice to add the lights with the X and check marks thingy.

Yeah, but you could end up landing on those light bridges... That could create more problems.
I had absolutely no idea how to beat the tower chamber, though now I think I might... The aerial faith plate is completely unnecessary because to get to the other side you can just use the gravity thing, jump out the side just before the laser, and hit the portal-able wall with a portal.
The first chamber was strange for me. Were you supposed to be able to jump on the ledge with the button? I couldn't. And it was hard just getting close to the button, but maybe it's just my timing was bad... Nice idea, though.

The map was very laggy (on my pretty good computer). Was the filesize big or something?

Were you supposed to be able to jump on the ledge with the button? Yes, you put two portals on the wall across from it after covering everything with slime that will give you enough speed to jump up there and press the button.

The map was very laggy (on my pretty good computer). Was the filesize big or something?I put new portal lasers in there because at one point in development They were part of the puzzle.Im pretty sure that's what is causing it.

One problem for me was that I didn't know what the buttons where doing.I had it like that but when I did it was very easy to know what you had to do. If you notice that next to the buttons are "AA" and "AB" decals. There are also the same decals next to the doors they opened.

Ty for the input, I Should have the new version up in an hour or so with bug fixes.

The first time I tried to move the "AA" panel, it animated, but it left behind some kind of...platform chunk. I couldn't get through. I had to go back, remove the box, and place it on the button again. Here's a screenshot:

Trying to jump on the faith plate was extremely awkward, and I'm not even sure I did it right. Do you mind telling me the appropriate method? 'Cause if I did it the right way, it needs to be revised. And...

SO SLOOOOOOW. This map should be much more fun once you polish it up.

Do you mind telling me the appropriate method? You are supposed to put a portal on top of the pit, then fall through it and land on it Ill get it fixed next update.

How did you do it btw?

Now i know my computer isn't the best, but i can't play this at all due to a massive lag. (and this is the first time this happened playing portal)

It should be fixed now, I'm only getting about 20fps less then what I do from campaign maps at the most intense points. Goes down to about 130 were as valve maps I'll go down to about 150. If more people are having problems I could probably move some things around and get even faster but I like the effect a big tall room has.Makes you feel like you really accomplished something after all your work.

That makes much more sense... I used the funnel to boost myself over the short wall and jump down at the faith plate. In hindsight it was not the most brilliant solution.

But I have another question:

Question Video
EDIT: Removed the video. It no longer has a purpose.

Yea, that isn't how it was made to be done. What you are supposed to do is launch yourself up through the hole the goo is coming out of. I wanted to have as much portalable wall as possible so it didn't seem like you were just following a predetermined path.

Was a little better, but still lagged too much to play
I don't even think a big room is the problem, i played really big maps before, but maybe some effects or so? For some reasons laser seem to really put a stress on the engine(if there are too many of them) i don't know about your map since i couldn't play it, but maybe remove some of those things(or make them appear after you step in the test chamber)

I guess this map just isn't for any old computer then.

(something is ironic though, portal2 plays much more fluid than portal1 on my computer, which is already odd. But in portal1 i could make it not lag so much by looking at the floor, which doesn't seem to work here)

You never actually render both puzzle rooms, at most if you get a good angle you will the hallway room and one of the puzzle rooms. You may want to look at your drivers because I don't think p2 should run better then p1.

There is a huge design flaw in the last room. You can go straight to the exit without touching the cube or anything by just shooting a portal at the wall near the top of the room then peeking through it and shooting another on the white wall inside the last hallway. Also the tube that drops the gel in the first room is missing.
