Keep working on it..
1. Wheatley Turret walked into the goo before I entered the room. Couldn't reach him.
2. Went across the gap and couldn't get back a crossed without killing myself.
I played it and there are some things that I should point out.
1.You seem to have a problem with your areaportals:

2.Please don't set the turret on super damage, I know what its meant for but there are lots of better ways to acheive that.
3. Set your toxic water texture to something like nature/toxicslime_a2_laser_over_goo, not just a plain old green water texture.
4. You could use a dropper for the box turrets and a frame for the camera screen, not just floating in the hallway.
5. AAARG NOOOOO COMPANION CUBE!!!!!!!!
That is all.
Is there a room which is connected properly to the next?
Nothing personal against your mapping skills, but at present time nothing works and all looks obscene. But the contest is 1 week away, you can fix this!
Not bad. Not bad at all. But sooo many bugs. In addition to what has already been mentioned, I noticed the following:
- The water does not destroy cubes, and considering the cube becomes irretrievable when dropped in, it should. Which leads me to...
- The level needs a cube vent. Preferably one with the standard "fizzle cube" button next to it.
- When you touch the emancipation grill leading down to the elevator, the portals, which at that time should be holding the cube against the wall button to keep the door open, disappear. The player could easily become stuck if they don't move through quickly.
Oh, and if this is a Wheatley chamber, there should be a big Wheatley face monitor on the wall, don't you think?
I went back through and tried to repair all the problems that you guys had listed if you find any more feel free to add them. Ill update the maps with fixes. I knew that the rooms hadn't been connected properly so i went back in and re textured to make it less noticeable a few exceptions maybe. Ill try to add wheatleys monitor but im new to mapping (5 days new) so i have to figure it out. I posted with bugs so i could get criticism thanks for those who post i have tried to fix everyting i hope its better now.
Nice! Looks like you got all of the issues fixed. Only thing left is to polish it up before the contest deadline. Good luck.
im going to extend the test by adding two maybe three puzzles after the original with different challenges and MUCH cleaner rooms. I also going to clean it up a lot and retexture to add better theme
I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1VrbIZ149I
This map is real good for a base. The truth is that you need to bind it to your theme more. In the game wheatley's chambers were all kinds of messed up due to terrible test building. another thing is is that you could make it more challenging so we need to use our brains in order to finish the puzzle. i want a moment when you have to look around and see what you have and how you could get to the objective. the bottom line is: great base, needs more challenging puzzles, to go more in detail with the theme, and more objectives.
This was a great thing to test,

re bufutda if you mean the wheatley screen its an instance
No, i meant his modified weighted storage cube. (Walking-style) (my avatar)
I cant find it anywhere....
I have an even better idea for you.
Instead of having the map completely enclosed.
Take out the goo, rip the room in half & give us some of that scenery from the campaign we saw so much of.
That would really seem more wheatley to me :d
re:bufutda
oooooh ok i used this instance - instances/gameplay/cube_dropper_a4_box.vmf then changed item type to prop_monster_box,and the cube type a just typed in Monster Box (i dont think it had anything to do with it
re: time filler im not sure how to add the pit like fall scenery
This is an extremely short map. I have no idea what the stairs are supposed to be used for and you can beat the test without using the laser.
