Description

A 1940s-style map I made for a small project, but I'm also going to enter it into the contest. This is the first complete map I've made for any game, so it will be a little rough and not optimized. v1.2 Fixed a massive solution skip (added fizzlers at the entrance) Changed test sphere to the instance, instead of separate brushes/entities Added clipping brushes to the entrance catwalks Reverted outside overlays to the correct orientation v1.1 Added textures to places that were missing them Patched a hole in the test sphere Moved a support to its correct position Made a changelog v1 Initial release

I thought this map was quite well-done. Good work

I think it is a pretty good map, could be a bit longer. Keep up the great work!

I'm quite sure I skipped the intended solution. Conversion gel is all I needed.

I agree with the above; I laid out the propulsion and repulsion gel before I saw where to go for the conversion gel, so I went ahead and solved it the intended way, but I might as well have used the odd plate down below. I think you can just go ahead and remove it since you can solve the test without it.

By the way, did you use the premade instance for the sphere? There were some lighting errors.

Also, I'm not sure if you wanted people to fling themselves onto the platform where the button is, but you can just jump onto the railing and then onto the platform from there.

There was a lighting problem whcih made the map so much harder(because i think this causes the gel to disappear after it hits a wall) (or did this just happen with mine?)
I didn't needed the blue and orange gel too, but this is easily solveable by putting a Emancipation Gril in the beginning

Weak. But informative! Because even if geometry is subpar and you basically play the whole small level on a single platform, you suggested that the chamber was upside down and I bet developing that idea further could make wonders.

Solved too easily, here is the demo if you want it:

I haven't had the chance to fix anything today, but I'll release an update tomorrow. Thank you for all of your feedback.

Okay, fixed a couple of things and forced the correct solution (put a emancipation grid in the entrance). I have also reverted the outside graphics to the "correct" way round. I would love to continue on the upside-down theme, but I don't have the time at the moment. However, when other maps are built and this is put into sequence, the upside down theme makes sense. As a single map, it doesn't.
