Description
Well, it's been a long while since I uploaded something. And now I completed something special. I decided to create a new enemy after making a "decoration" in a glass case that looked threatening. Aperture Office is the map my adorable little monster was created in (although disabled for safety reasons and to prevent rage quits). Along with the Aperture Office map, I created an instance and a demo map testing out my Angry Hover Turret. It is equipped with two stationary turrets and a tracking laser. I will also release the Angry Hover Turret in the Other Files section that is not packed with Aperture Offices for those that just want the new enemy and the demo map. For more information on the Angry Hover Turret, check the Other Files section. The Aperture Offices map contains black keycards to open doors. Also, air vents are accessible. That's probably the only new content that should be worried about. Have fun with this new map! Known Bugs: The 2nd vent area you run into has a vent cover that has trouble coming off while inside the vent. Jumping while grabbing should allow the player to remove the cover. Strange that I never came across this.

It is a good map, but in the offices was little hard for me to discover what was the right way to go and what I had to do(i think it is because some of the rooms and corridors are very similar to each other so I ended up walking in circles
)I was stuck in the 2nd exit duct that runs from the cafeteria to the last room before the final puzzle and i ended up having to use noclip to get out. but besides all that, was fun to play your map
thx for mapping.
Well, you're supposed use portals to get into the 2nd duct, are you saying that you were stuck as in: "couldn't move inside the duct?" or "the cover wouldn't remove when I pressed E?" or "something else entirely?"
I know crawling in the duct is a bit slow and boring, which is why I could skip crawling and use portals inside the duct to speed things up. That could also be used in the first duct.
Edit: Anyone find the hidden disk?
I made a video to show the part i was stuck =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6DpEKsfhVU&feature=youtu.be
also, i did something wrong in this part or that is really a bug?
Okay, so I tried it myself (btw I loved the fast forward jingle) and realized when I grabbed the vent cover, I was in the air (like jumping or falling down) when I grab the vent cover. Standing on the vent cover prevents me from grabbing it, so I guess this is an odd bug. So try grabbing right after jumping or in mid-air. I was always falling towards the vent cover when I grabbed it so I never noticed it the bug to begin with. Ugh, that probably ruined the experience for most players.
Again, anyone find the disk yet? Or see any Aperture Screen Savers?
WTH? I played this map with no problems. I found the disk, played the vids, never got stuck. You have to do some exploring, but isn't that part of Portal? The hallways could use some variety to distinguish themselves, but your inability to find a way out of a tricky situation is absolutely appalling. Don't blame the mapper for your incompetence.
EDIT: I only wish you hadn't made the green carpet portable. It makes it very hard to keep it clean. Vacuuming up some dirt only makes it appear somewhere else.

Thanks dude, i'm glad you liked the vid, I found the disc and also saw the screensavers =).
ps: Just a suggestion, i think you could put a trigger for the protection fall in this situation
And for the guy up there ...(if he was talking to me) I think what is "absolutely appalling" here is your reaction, if you played the map without problems good for you, i just made a silly comment man, one of the functions of this forum is to help the owner of the map to find bugs.
Relax dude, here eat a piece of cake
OK, I'm more relaxed now. Thanks for the cake. No, my comment was directed at the person who called the map "retarded". I guess I should quote more.
Actually, I thought Szieve was calling my explanation for the vent cover not being grabbed properly retarded. I doubt that Szieve actually tried what I suggested earlier, so the jokes on him/her. I was glad when RogerL kinda backed me up with that comment earlier.
I continuously play-test my maps to make sure everything works correctly, but I never caught that one bug. If I had, I would have altered the vent cover so it would fall down when the player touched it. Again, I'm sorry.
Hey, did you guy's try the AHT Demo yet? I'm curious about what people think about the Angry Hover Turret.
got stuck in the first room w/ the cubicles. Cant figure out how to get into any of the other rooms behind doors, and the one w/ the powerbox and file cabinet isn't helping. I already tried breaking the glass and the doors with a chair.
Edit: NVM. The powerbox, wow.
I didn't run into any bugs? Puzzle was not too interesting - running around, hardest part was finding a portalable surface after removing the second panel. Thanks for mapping again...
Here's my blindrun of the AHT demo. I could se a good boss fight idea...
