Third installment in the Remmiz Chamber series. After quite a long break from mapping, (school, internship, etc.) I have finally finished Remmiz Chamber 3. It's a lot longer than any of the previous maps and is a Companion Cube orientated level. Download, have fun and let me know what you think!

Very well put together! All the areas introducing "new" techniques were very intuitive. A few notes:
1.) I trapped my WCC in one of the moving fling walls and couldn't dislodge it. I finally ran under the wall and died instantly. (Don't know if this is something you really need to worry about or try to prevent.)
2.) I was able to shoot through the incinerator to the wall behind it. You may want some sort of block to prevent shooting through this object.

Thanks for these brood. While I was reproducing your second one, I found that you don't die when you fall into the incinerator. Oops.

well made. easy to traverse. fun. but since you want gripes and shit. here you go

This looks funny, i guess if you're left handed its no big deal. but it looks funny to me.

i'm angry you made me do this to my cube

and the energy ball puzzle with the three doors and three switches i beat without using a single door this is what i did (with screens)
STEP 1: place blue portal here
STEP 2: place orange portal here
STEP 3: PROPHETZ!!!
this definatly doesn't seem to be the correct solution but it is the FIRST that came to me, after i saw what would be required to push all the buttons and shit i said f-that and just thought with portals. but considering your solution to the VERY next energy ball solution this doesn't seem like a big deal. just wanted to inform you incase you hadn't seen it/though about it

and lastly it is possible to get stuck in the incenerator (and also not die)

I loved this map, but I noticed a few things:

-on the triple lift portion, with the button in the bottom corner, I almost managed to get the companion cube stuck on the second lift, but I luckily had a portal still in one of the upper sections - I don't think there can be anything done about this though...
-I placed the companion cube on the incinerator before hitting the button, and when it opened, the cube just floated in mid-air

Oops, thats definitely a bug.

I love how at the end your poor cube is all full of bullets and burn marks...it only feels right to kill the poor thing.

Nice! I hadn't even thought of that but I will keep it in since it's thinking with portals (tm)!

Yeah I found this out earlier and is already fixed.

Hmm that's very tricky. I'll have to think about this one.

While funny I'll have to fix it. Thanks for the help guys!

I assume by "beta" you meant "WIP", so moved to the right board.

Ah, very nice to play.

Just a note:
The ball breaking all the stuff is just fun to watch, but it is just a waste of time. Not sure if this part was about introducing a new gameplay element in your post maps, like breaking a vent with a ball to pass an obstable, but if it is not, I don't see why it is here.

Also, one stupid thing I've done on my maps is to make some parts of the map bended so that the cube can never be perched somewhere we can't catch. I also put a vphysics motion volume to simulate a loss of friction. Maybe you can do that, but I know it is completly stupid to break the 45 degree angles of a classic architectural design of Portal.

Nice work here, fun to play, I didn't play your Remmiz 2 before today downloading level 3, when I downloaded the 3 and started the bonus map window, I've seen that the 2 was missing so I downloaded it and played, very resourceful too. Every of your maps seem to be the continuation of Portal, just because your levels are long and they have got many signatures, like never seen flings and ball courses.

The goal for this was to have it break through them all without bouncing back. I haven't been able to figure out how to do that (hopefully I can by the final release).

Also, has anyone found the secret room without noclipping?

umm your actually able to trap yourself after the fling ball puzzle.. well i couldnt get my cube back because i placed the wrong portal in the main room. so in order to get up back there i need the cube to stand on the button so the fling thing comes out -.-

Hey, I did see the secret room, but completely forgot about it once I solved the puzzle in that room. I have a fun little idea for you, since I enjoyed it so much (the hidden room):

You should place a standard weighted cube in the secret room, with all the writing and such, so that when you get to the end, you can incinerate the new cube (therefore saving your WCC). Of course you would need to not have a fizzler before the lift (can't remember if you did or not), but it would be neat if you displayed a message on the lift if the player managed to successfully save his or her WCC

I know what he's talking about

The part where you need to jump to a button, place the cube there, 2 plates come out of the walls, you fling up, place a portal up there around the ball launcher, drop the cube there, jump back down, place 2 portals in the main hall, and ur stuck!

yay now i dont have to upload pics so you should fix this somehow :s tho if you jump at the right moment while running into the portal you get enough speed to jump all the way up back to the cube but this about 20 trys for me everytime i want to do it

I liked the design, it had so much portal-feel which I like the most
I noticed that not all doors have their indicator strips, so I was sometimes confused how to open which door... but maybe it's just me.
In the room with the energy ball and grates I was unable to come to the intended solution, so I picked up my beloved companion cube and just used it to bounce the energy ball into the catcher... so I actually solved it by accident
The three-door room with the short-living energy ball launcher was funny, but after a couple tens of tries it became frustrating. However, I was able to complete it, that was a good feeling. As I read here, there is another solution, which is much simpler

I was also unable to get some flings done right, but I am sure that it is just me, I am not good at flings

Another good map Remmiz. I had some of the same problems as mentioned earlier such as getting stuck in the fling room on the moving wall but I'm not sure if that's a design flaw on your part or an engine glitch. Also the fling itself; I don't really know how I managed to do it but I did, I couldn't do it a second time.

Keep up the good work map! I look forward to chamber 4.

I gotta say they do look pretty flat, and most of the levels are a bit Dull Looking, but fun nevertheless.

One of the better maps I've seen! Thank you. The turret area took me quite a few tries since there's no real resting spot partway through it. Really felt like knocking some turrets over by the end.

Don't know if it's just me, but the lift-to-lift jumps in the room with 3 lifts are incredibly hard to make. I kept missing the next one and ending up on the floor.

Also in the fling room with two 45 degree button-controlled plates, I can't seem to quite make it to the button. With the plates IN, I put one portal in the top one, and the other on a wall at the bottom. I jump through the portal and can't quite land on the platform myself, though I can throw the cube onto the button. Same deal if I jump into a floor portal.
PICTURE LINK

I was able to solve it by jumping off the cube into a carefully-placed floor portal (with the blue portal as in the picture. Then I managed to portal the cube out of the wall like this and catch it.
PICTURE LINK

I also solved that one a different way without ever activating the button or using the cube. I made a floor-ceiling infinite loop in the short hallway into the room, putting the portals for it as close to the room as possible. While falling through it, I shot a portal on the vertical upper panel. This shot me to the uppermost platform and opened the door at the top.

As for the energy ball and grate room, if there's no way to get it to break a grate and then keep going, I'd suggest just two grates so it doesn't take so long. Also be nice to have grates that you break and then walk through.

Another small bug in that room (ball and grates). After solving the room, go back and push the button right before it and the energy ball maker starts up again.

I love compherm's idea of hiding another cube and letting the player save the WCC. Maybe show a cake in addition to the "congrats" message. If you do it, there should be a different message if the player incinerates the WCC anyway and walks out carrying the PLAIN cube.

Another couple of incinerator bugs: I like to place the cube on top of the incinerator and then push the button. If you place the cube too close to the near edge, it can get stuck with its corner poking out of the incinerator (probably an engine glitch, though I've never seen it do that before). And incinerating at certain points in GLaDOS's speech cause the "you euthanized your faithful companion cube..." to overlap with whatever she was saying before.
