Been a while since I've made a portal map.

So, me and my friend were trying to make a new Glados voice and the results came out pretty good so I decided to make a little test map to see how it sounds ingame.

The map is not long and kind of easy but you can find two new music tracks and new Glados voice in there.

I really liked it. Alot.

The music were awesome, and so were the custom voices

Please tell me how you do the voices and does it cost any money? cause i don't have any

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

About your question, let my friend Koolfox answer:

I did the voice of Glados using the Melodyne VSTi Plug-in (There is also a stand-alone version, and a tutorial on how to do the voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oQn66gvwKA)
I used this text-to-speech site to emulate a female voice http://www.neospeech.com and I recorded from there the lines Hen7 gave me, combine the two and WALLA! Glados at Full Form , hope I helped. Koolfox.

So not i just recorded the sound from melodyne so that i have it anyway ^^

very nice. the music was great, and the voice was nice. the only problems i found are that the voice continues even if you pause the game. and in the case of the first door, it then takes awhile for a the environment to catch up. also, it might be good to make it a little louder, because when the turret talked i could'nt make out a word the GLaDOS voice was saying.

It doesn't stop because he's using ambient_generic and not the scene thing. (can't remember it's name). To fix it he should put them into scene files.

Even though the map was pretty short, I really liked it. I did not really find the map hard, but the map kept my interest. The music, was awesome, and I finally got to see Koolfox's GLaDOS voices in action which surprised me very. (And you know why I'm happy to see it, lets stop there )

I don't know, I threw the cube on top of the button and the door closed as soon as I went to go in. I noticed the cube was on the ground and I was like, "huh. Lets try that again." And I noticed that the brush was not soild for the cube anymore.

It might have been a running error, or you made the brush toggle its solidity.

Nice map. One particular thing i like about it, is that you return to the first room at the end, which hides the linear gameplay a bit. I wish that this kind of thing was used more in custom maps.

The GLaDOS voice is very close to the original Portal. (Both the dialogue lines and the sound of the voice.) The only minor thing i noticed is that the changes in pitch sound a bit too mechanical. But that might be a problem with TTS in general.

Hey, great map. The custom music was great. The custom Glados voices were sometimes not understandable (too fast?) but that's mainly because English is not my native language and subtitles were missing (you would need to use custom scenes , I know, which is still problematic enough...)

Awsome map, I love the custom music and you did a great job on the new GLaDOS voice. Can I assume that there may be a longer more epic map coming up in the future becuase of this "test" map?

god, if only I could make GLaDOS's voice, however, I used up my melodyne demo XD
I do however have audicity. would that create the same effect?
we need a voice ASAP for our mod.
I don't suppose you'd be able to give me the unedited version? that way, I know what to look for :3

I've been known in the past to exceed people's expectations

and if not, I usually try to fail in the classyest way possible

it would be helpful to know what voice to find to edit, so could you send it if possible?

besides, I need to work on my mod.
things like that look fairly good on a CV. especially if it all goes to plan
and if not, I have created a great concept with a huge amount of content and concept that I never used :3
I'm making this to see if I can map good. and to see if I am good to be a computer games mapper.
I had expirience beforehand. I worked with an engine called "FPS creator". near identical, except less choice.

Greetings programs, it's my first post although i've been here for a while.

Weird, this map made my computer crash 2 times before i decided to reduce the resolution of the game. Then it worked, but i never had to do this before and i played almost all the maps that are hosted here.

Btw it is really short but i liked it. The new voice and music were pretty good. Nice work !

A short, but funny map, easy nevertheless.
I think I never would have realized that this was a custom made GLADOS voice when it wouldn't had that name and description.
It was really well made! Great!
