Description
Bigger, slightly harder and better-designs, the new and improved GeLDOS is here! Again, same story. If GLaDOS what in charge on the underground. You see there's funnels and stuff you find in regular, overground Glados chambers. Anyhow, enjoy UPDATE V1.1 ------------- * Fixed the grill in the first room * Placed a grill in the second phase

Hey man,
I'm sorry, but this map just doesn't seem finished yet.
Let me tell you why I think so:
1) You start without an elevator
2) I DID start with potatOS, while you said you fixed that.
3) The very first door was just a door, no nice cover around it, like in the real maps
4) The room is very big, and has only two textures.
5) You can solve the puzzle without the button and hard light bridge...
6) The fizzler at the end is like 32?! pixels wide? Usually they're only 1 or 2 thick.
7) The end was just a door in a corridor, end!
The puzzle was really really easy.
Please don't get discouraged by my message, I'm only trying to help you. When I started mapping I also made a lot of mistakes, and well, you learn most from your mistakes.
Keep on mapping
~Lp
Indeed it is bad and short, and pretty much sucks. 5 minutes after posting it I wanted to delete it.

This map is just AMAZING! I really enjoyed playing it. The puzzles were not skipable nor were there any work arounds at all. The large completely unused rooms just add overall ambience. Your interesting use of vertex and nodraw textures was excellent; and the rest were just as consistant, not a single one aligned. And the lighting effect you used was just amazing, so good infact that I am now partially blind with occational retinal bleeding.
Also the fact you can complete this in about 10 seconds flat is truely admired. Who wants to be playing portal anyway. CoD is where its at! Your quick map was able to satisfy by portal addiction (which is usally satisfied with hard drugs) and let me get back to pwning noobs.
Thank you, once again for this truelly awesome map! Will post video review soon.

Thank you very much! Took me a while to pull this off, and I had plans to continue it furter, but the damn leak glitching and fixing got my motivation down.
Fun fact, the lighting effect was a light glitch and I when I found it gives a very good scary effect that matches the music, I went with it.
sorry, but I think iwork is just a bit cynical.
The map is indeed a lot better than the first one, but still has wayyy too much bugs in it.
I solved the test with only using the blue gel at the very end.
NO IDEA why I should've used the funnels
NO IDEA how or when I should have gained the white gel
there are a lot of misaligned textures, the rooms are very big still.
You really need to fix leaks.
make sure you don't see nodraw textures from inside.
I'm currently uploading a video of my playthrough to youtube. But my internet is emo today, so it will take a while. But as soon as it's uploaded I'll sent you a link!
You did improve a lot of things, but this map just needs some more tweaks before it's a good map.
I suggest moving this map to the work in progress section, gather some more feedback and when the people at WIP think it's a good map, release it to the finished section. This way you will get better feedback! And you can get really nice feedback when the map is placed under released maps.
hope that helped

Well, although I had one solution in mind, you used one I didn't thought of. The white gel is to put the blue gel to jump off to the button in the first room.
I did fixed all the leaks to my knowledge, and I didn't used any nodraw textures AT ALL in this map, not including the elevator, of course.
GeLDOS will (apperently) be continued, I just need to think of a good gimick with the Gels. (Help apperciated)
I'll take note of these, prehaps PM me with some more tips&tricks? Thanks!

Pfft. No one asked you. Why do people have to be so negative all the time. There is NOTHING wrong with this map.
Anyway here is that vid I promised:

Hey hey, don't fight.
Oh, thanks for pointing out the glitches.

Can you do the video again or something?
In my playthrough I found some other issues... but emo internet makes the upload very slow
After I upload it I will place the video

Did you play it after the update?
no, I was busy trying angry tests... but let me try again... ... for science!"
EDIT: still uploading
(your map) (and my vid too
)

Okay good, but it's important to play it after the update because I updated the grills, so you won't cheat.
You monster.
Goddamn it, I always need to test my maps. Or else I get this... This itch of sarcastic posts and complaints.

Lol I'm going to leave the video as a remind of your failure.
Well, I have beat you in your own game.
Since I updated the map, this glitch belongs to the past.
YOU MONSTER.
Also, congrats. You moved me one step forward. To my plan of... Leaving this site. Or not.
Well, the update did fix some things, and it made it a bit harder, but I think it just needs some more work.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but you threat is empty. Noone cares.
Korl wrote:
when I load the map I only get blue portal. Is that intended?
As far as I know it isn't
You can go to the console and type in "upgrade_portalgun" To get your dual-portal device though!

The rooms are huge and ugly, the map does not feel inviting at all. I canceled my playthrough within the first minute. I don't recommend playing this map.

sigh
Damn you, lights glitch.
First, thanks for taking the time to try mapping. Unfortunately, this seems to lack a coherent puzzle. I'm not sure how you intended this to work, but it is clearly very easy to bypass a lot of stuff and go right to the end with only some blue gel. You need to guide the player a little better and think a little more about your puzzle in the map.
Keep working at it. Follow some of the examples of other maps or even the P2 game itself...
2/5. Big, ugly and exploitable. I don't like gel puzzles in general, because it's easy to make a bad one, like this.
If you can't take the harsh criticism, you should consider finding some playtesters to iron out the big bumps first. Then release to WIP, where most criticism is from people who want to be helpful.
This is my first map. GeLDOS is an althernative path to the game, I recommend you to finish the game before playing this map. Aperture Science's underground is controled by GLaDOS, and Cave Johnson never existed. This map is expected to be a mappack with a story ETC.
