Hey guys. I was wondering if I could get some constructive criticm for my map I entered. I'm not planning on winning but I do want to see what people thought of it.

Okey.

You had some good testing elements, however they were quite easy to solve. I wish you had expanded on that and made it longer.

I hated the looks, to orange dark, it just did not fit my eyes. My suggestion would have been to stick to either classic design or portal 2 design, which look good, so it would have been a good known field.

Yeah I realize the map is really short and that was due to me spending too much time refining each area. The orange look I personnally like a lot and I'm tired of the classic portal/"portal 2" look. Could you explain in more detail what you didn't like about the style? I'm glad you tried it and best of luck with your map.

Orange coloring annoyed me but map was fine.

Although short indeed, I actually liked the more orange look to everything.

I bet if you had more time you could have extended things a bit, and made the puzzles harder.

The save and restart did not work for me. There appears to be no autosave and the F6 save did not restart on F9. The saved pictures for both were there in Load but they didn't restart that game point, went back to beginning...
I went thru the map to the first green cube and then had to interrupt play. After the second time through I quit this one and moved on to the other entries. I'll come back later....sorry.

Well, the orange lighting was very dark, so there was enough light. Also, you ommitted many details like a ligth rail for the scafold. The texturing looked quite bad. All the time about the same size metal boxes, which just made it look dull. I had a difficult time to look around. Like, I dunno, it just did not please my eyese, it look plain and dull to me. Like there was no contrast, no break of the pattern to make it more interesting.

Nice map. I loved the timed-bomb sphere. Other than that, I basically agree with what Motanum said. This map needs more polishing and attention to detail. But it was fun and that is what counts

It was ok. In the second part the sphere glitched through the ground, so after finding out the saving/loading doesn't work I had to go back through the first puzzle again to find it happen again. I noclipped, but only because I couldn't see how to solve it due to this seemingly puzzle breaking bug.

Other than that it was pretty ok. You could definitely have elaborated on the mechanics, but what you did with them was all right.

Nice little map with some new mechanics. Not sure what happened with the Save function failure - but that is a negative that should have easily been picked up by testing? Everything else worked well and was enjoyable - thanks for the map .
Well done.

I liked the overall style. Wasn't too dark on my flatscreen and looked nice. Color choices and style is a matter of personal likes\dislikes. Always taking a bit of a risk when doing something different, but taking a risks tends to be where you can gain\learn the most rather than doing the same old thing and what everyone expects.

Maps puzzles difficulty was on par with the original game. Some will likely comment that the three main puzzles were to easy, but if you were to have average players play the map, they would find the difficulty level be satisfying and fun because they could complete the map without the need of advanced portal skills\knowledge that has become the norm for Portal maps and mods. Average players get stumped and frustrated with a lot of maps because the player doesn't have advanced skills and 100s of hours playing Portal. The puzzle with the exploding ball actually did take me a few minutes longer to solve because the solution wasn't obvious (it was fun\challenging). After solving all three puzzles, it also took some extra thinking to find my way out. Those were nicely done and could be be solved with basic portal skills\knowledge.

Overall nice job. It takes a bit of extra guts to submit a map into the contest knowing that others are likely going to criticize it. Its easy for the rest of us not to enter the contest and just be spectators.

This was an ok map. The puzzles were enjoyable, however, the style was rather plain and uninteresting.

The map has a unique design and beautiful structure except for the end which is not very beautiful and the bug about save/load. Good job overall.
