Description
My first real attempt at a Portal 2 map, created in about a day. Not filing as "released" yet, as there are still lighting issues and GLaDOS speech needs to be added. But for the amount of time I put into it, I think it's turning out pretty well, and would love to hear feedback.

Short, rather easy puzzle, environment was slightly erie, in the destroyed style, 2nd chamber had a nice little fling to it. I walked in front of the turrets several times, they did not shoot at me - might want to make them a little more responsive. Other than that, good work - looked and played nice!
The turrets are set to "out of ammo", more as sort of ambience. However, if the feeling is that it's too easy, I could work them in someway with live ammo
Anyways, this is my first map I've gone through with, second that I could actually run myself xD (old PC was terrible). Thanks a lot for the feedback
will work on making it more challenging
Ah - didn't realize that. You could leave it - as it made it suspenseful. Great work anyway for a first map - keep them coming!
I plan to!
And seeing as I fancy myself quite the storyteller, there may be more coming than "just test chambers".
We'll wait and see
Disregarding the non-existing difficulty this is a very nice first map. I want to see more

I think actually this is probably more in difficulty similar to the singleplayer game's early laser chambers. ie: not very xD
Release version of the WIP uploaded the other day. Now has music, GLaDOS voices, active turrets, fixed vertex textures and implemented moving panels. Moved the button, but still fairly easy difficulty.

This demonstrates that you can wrap your puzzles in interesting surroundings. If you partnered with one of the mappers here that make good puzzles in dull rooms (and there are more than a few) we would all have some nicer maps to play. This is too short and easy to merit a 4, but that's the only knock on an otherwise beautifully detailed map. A solid 3/5 from me, begging for more.
Yeah, that's the main problem I have (along with projected textures turning themselves off and not finding the right materials!)
I pride myself on aesthetics, and spend hours making sure everything -looks- right, but I'm not too good at thinking up challenging puzzles ^^;
Well, practice makes perfect
besides, most of the VALVe maps are easy until the last two acts of the game.
Hey dude,
I love Portal and want to collect some gameplays (first blind runs; always aren't the fastest and intended solutions, because I take any time to look at the map and its possibilities), speedruns and bug reports.
My records should help you to understand how the player thinks.
Well, I hope I can support you with my uploads to fix any bugs and make new awesome maps.
Here are yours!

cute simple puzzle
THX for mapping...
Keep it up!
Ah, didn't know you could activate portal catchers from the side xD
Also, German GLaDOS sounds very fitting!
Btw, should probably have mentioned earlier on, but this map was made in only 2 days, and was really just to test my new machine with mapping. I'm going to be spending a lot more time on something more "full".
Very nice short map, beautiful scene... and sounds...Thanks for mapping, looking for more...
I'm actually working on increasing the challenge, ie: making the turrets an important part, adding certain elements, changing large portions of the chamber.

Well, if you're still working on it you probably also want to close this loophole. The map can be beaten in 15 seconds with 2 Portals.
Edit:
Oh, Blumenkohl beat me to it. Damn spoiler tags.
I fixed that right after he posted.
Version on site still has this flaw, but is long fixed on the one I'm working on
Just replayed with the updates. Really nice - I didn't think at first that GlaDos voice was needed, but now that I hear it - it's a nice addition. And the live turrets make it both suspenseful and challenging. Great work - keep them coming!
I just had to make a new video of this map just because I can't stand all the German GLaDOS voices that were posted here. That's so disgusting!

Nah he's not, it's just that the Glados her German language pack does't sound as cool as her English language pack!
On topic: nice little map ^^ 4/5 great
