Aperture Science Mobility Gel Removal Receptacle (Gel Cleanser)
A glorified water dropper. Yes, it does get a bit buggy at times, and the reason it spawns a water blob is because trigger_paint_cleanser's aren't working for whatever reason. (If someone could help me with this, that would greatly appreciated.) Drag 'auesomeman_instances' into your 'portal 2\sdk_content\maps\instances' folder. To use in a map, create a func_instance and select either 'paint_cleanser_black.vmf' or 'paint_cleanser_white.vmf'. HD Preivew Pic: http://imgur.com/HCFOWeR
Light Puzzle
I do not like to write a great description, so I will tell a brief indication of where it is necessary to lay down the files... Extract two folders from the archive: maps and materials; in Steam\steamapps\common\Portal\portal.
Time 2 Cooperate - Part 3.1
[b:3smbirhu]Gameplay[/b:3smbirhu] This map is a reloaded version of my old t2c3 map which has got new quests and their own cooperative difficulty. Including the bonus quest it consists of five subquests. You have to solve all main quests to get to the exit. You will start without a portal gun. By solving the first quest you will get your own portal gun. Can you find the secret room and reveal what is inside there? [b:3smbirhu]Installation[/b:3smbirhu] map: Copy the map to SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2\maps materials: Copy the folder "custom_t2c3_reloaded" to SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2\materials [b:3smbirhu]Report bugs[/b:3smbirhu] If you find bugs, please report it. Double Trouble Remastered
Welcome test subjects. Like t2c3 I decided to update my map “Double Trouble Remastered”. Including my old map “Double Trouble” with an overgrown theme this map has got a new difficult level and there are some nice gags. I also removed the ugly small disco room at the beginning. [b:28wnuwah]Gameplay:[/b:28wnuwah] Take a long view! You will start on top of the overgrown chamber and you have to solve the quest. After passing a triggered area, a new spawn point is activating. You can read the information on the left corner screen. Do you remember? Turrets are not your friends. [b:28wnuwah]Difficulty:[/b:28wnuwah] This map is hard(ly hard). It depends on you. “All roads lead to Rome.” ^^ [b:28wnuwah]Bug reporting:[/b:28wnuwah] If you find bugs, please report them. [b:28wnuwah]Bonus content:[/b:28wnuwah] I also decided to create a bonus room. This room is a small cinema and it shows a custom movie about our playthrough including fails. ^^ [b:28wnuwah]Important:[/b:28wnuwah] Be sure you copy the custom movie to: [u:28wnuwah]“SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2\media”[/u:28wnuwah], otherwise you will see a blank area only. [b:28wnuwah]Installation custom movie[/b:28wnuwah] To be able to watch the custom movie, visit the link http://www.imagenetz.de/f1107a2e6/porta ... ie.7z.html This map contains a custom movie. It's connected with a vgui_movie_display including the settings: [img:28wnuwah]http://www.imagenetz.de/th8f8e3e50/01_edior.png[/img:28wnuwah]. Bigger picture: http://www.imagenetz.de/f8f8e3e50/01_edior.png.html Just copy the file "dtr_fails.bik" to [b:28wnuwah]"SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2\media".[/b:28wnuwah] [img:28wnuwah]http://www.imagenetz.de/th23d264ba/02_file.png[/img:28wnuwah] Bigger picture: http://www.imagenetz.de/f23d264ba/02_file.png.html If done, you can watch the movie by entering the bonus room. This map also contains two own created achievements. These are: [u:28wnuwah]Turretminator:[/u:28wnuwah] This map includes 16 turrets. The first six have to be hit and the ten turrets left have to be destroyed by a laser only. No turret has to be thrown into the goo or to a fizzler, otherwise the nested counter is not going to raise by one. [u:28wnuwah]Super-Skill-Software:[/u:28wnuwah] Do not die anywhere. If you are going to swim or falling, then the specified trigger is going to deactivate. Finally, I hope you enjoy my map and have a lot of fun.
Light Catcher puzzle element
This contains the instances and other files mappers need to utilize the new Light Catcher element (as seen here Gathering Light). Archive contains versions for both Hammer mappers, as well as users of BEE2. Installation notes (from the readme.txt): If you aren't utilizing the Puzzle Maker w/ the BEE2 mod, simply extract the "mironos" folder from sdk_content\maps\instances to the equivalent location in your Portal 2 directory. For BEE2 users: Extract all files in this archive to your Portal 2 directory Run StyleChanger once Close and reopen BEE2. The Light Catcher element should appear in most style collections by default Note This archive contains two instances of the Light Catcher. These instances are identical, with the exception of their origins and orientations within Hammer. BEE2 will use the instance in the p2editor folder, whereas Hammer users will likely find it more convenient to use the version inside the "mironos" folder.
Aperture Weighted Cube Gibs
These are custom made breakable cube models designed for cubes being smashed, exploded, or taken apart. Fizzling doesn't cut it now, you've got the real deal! The pack includes eleven basic gibs for generic destruction, but they can be copied rotated to form an almost seamless cube. Simply place these gibs at the origin of a cube, then spawn them when needed. If you are using this in your maps, please credit me, and tell me where you are using it because I'd like to see! Video Demonstration: (With Custom Texture Mod Active :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUPKQ6_ ... e=youtu.be To install, extract the the "CamBen" folder into your "models" directory in the common/Portal 2/portal2/ folder UPDATE v2 -Added all default skins back to the cube gibs -Removed Slenderman UPDATE v3 -Added cube model that automatically breaks into gibs
Turrets Overwatch 02
This turned out to be more like a GLaDOS voice test for me, but the chamber shows a new funel mechanic as well and its difficulty is medium. I spent quite a lot of time working on the textures and the evil GLaDOS traps and I'm proud of what I did (don't get angry if she's too harsh on you ). Check out Part 01 as well. AND MAKE SURE THE TURRETS DIE!!! Installation: Extract the compressed files in your ...Steam\SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2 folder, then open Portal 2 and type in the console "map turrets_overwatch_02".
turrets verwatch 01
An easy hammer-made test with GLaDOS, an easter egg, a fresh new idea and everything. I spent 5 days working on this. it's my first hammer map and I'm impressed what I managed to do. have fun! AND MAKE SURE THE TURRETS DIE! I didn't quite manage to add the steam workshop page as a download page so now you can install this map manually by: -extracting the archive in your ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2 folder -and typing "map lasertest" in the console after loading portal 2. Special thanks to XeZrunner for useful advice and for the skybox at the end.
Crossway
A tiny 70's era test for players who love logical puzzles. It does not require any kind of tricks, only deciding the placement of portals and the route to be followed. This map uses BEEMOD2 by Benjamin Blodgett and Carl Kenner, and the Puzzle Maker Style Changer by Carl Kenner. Credits: * Benjamin Blodgett: BEEMOD2 * Carl Kenner: 1970's Portal 2 instances, BEEMOD2 and Style Changer * TeamSpen210: Antline magnet, Cave Johnson portrait To Play: * Place crossway.bsp in Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps * Type "map crossway" in the in-game developer console Enjoy and good luck!
Complementary Action
Help or hinderance - if only that button could make up its mind. A tiny PTI/WIP map of easy/medium difficulty. Note that the map is complete except for elevators. Unfortunately I'm getting an error when trying to publish this, and I'm too lazy to add elevators, so I'll just release this as a WIP. Put the bsp file in SteamApps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps, and type "map ca_ver1" in the in-game console to play.
