But hey Volatile, you got your own little symbol goin' there, and I can dig it. Why not go whole hog and make the whole image triangle-shaped? (Or kinda shield-shaped, like Superman's logo.) Cut off them unsightly black areas and make it pop, man. Having a recognizable shape like that will really differentiate your avatar from everyone else's, but in a way people can notice out of the corner of their eye without makng a special effort. Shmitz mentioned this earlier.
Go triangle with that image, dude. It'll be sweet.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Do you mean make the background transparent, or just fancy it up somehow? Make the background more decorative or something? I dunno, I kinda like it the way it is. But I'll putz around with it a bit, perhaps.
