Hey Guys,

Today morning i worked on my pc, and changed the old thermal grease with a new one. (Cpu und Gpu)
Before the new grease the temps (of the cpu) were Idle: 30C Fullload: 60C

Now with the new grease they are idle: 50C Fullload: 85< C ! >.<
But the Gpu works fine, better than with the old grease..

Does anyone know why the cpu has this problem, or what i maybe have done wrong? :s
I cant even start Portal, the gpu gets under max. settings to 50C, and the cpu gets to 90 C >.<

Did you make sure to apply minimal thermal paste? Too much paste can actually hinder efficient heat transfer

I try to use very minimal paste, but maybe i puted to much on it. Today morning i changed again the paste, now the temps are Idle: 35C and fulload: 70C.. But with the new paste it should be lower..

I had trouble with thermal paste before... You have to make sure to spread it evenly not to leave air gaps otherwise it can heat terribly.

I'm not sure if this is normal but I had the paste completely harden. (but none of that now, new generation CPU )

Yes i made sure to not leave gaps ^^

Hm, the paste i use is slightly harden, not completely soft or hard..

But that was a very cheap paste, maybe i go buy a better paste, like Gelid extreme gc.
