These are custom made breakable cube models designed for cubes being smashed, exploded, or taken apart.
Fizzling doesn't cut it now, you've got the real deal!
The pack includes eleven basic gibs for generic destruction, but they can be copied rotated to form an almost seamless cube. Simply place these gibs at the origin of a cube, then spawn them when needed.
If you are using this in your maps, please credit me, and tell me where you are using it because I'd like to see!

Looks very useful and nice. How hard would it be to make them support the other metal_box.mdl skins? (Unless gibs can't use skins). At the moment these couldn't work with companion cubes or dirty cubes.

Oh yea, I forgot about that. I'll go fix the download.

It looks like Portal 1 with a portal 2 textured room but interesting

It isn't, I'm just using the portalgun model in my mod, plus modified particles. The weapons were just an easy way for me to show it taking damage.

Excellent, I know just how to use these...

Would you consider recompiling the metal_box model to spawn these at the appropriate places when it breaks? I've tried with other models before but I can never align them quite right.

Ok I compiled it and it's posted in the zip now. If this isn't what you meant then I can fix it.

I think this is really nice. Do you need to use a prop_physics with this though, or is there an easier way?

I think if you SetModel a cube to the breakable one, the Break input will still work (it's inherited from prop_physics).

Are you making gibs for other cubes?

I'm not particularly planning on it, mainly because with other cubes there really isn't much to work with. Like, for example, the reflection cube and sphere don't really have many sticking up pieces, or very well set lights or anything like that that I can easily use.

For reflection cube gibs you can use that empty reflector frame Skotty made, plus a lot of tiny normal glass gibs.
