I'm starting to feel like quite a geek because while all my friends are out wasting their money on booze, theres me on my computer wasting my money on games LOL. Well you've come to the right place! We always like welcoming in new members. If you want to talk to other mappers, I'd reccomend you use a steam account (I don't know how you could map for portal and other valve games without one.)

Oh yeah, I forgot about steam, my account is Stacey_Starr, but where I tried making new mapping friends on a website called 'gamebanana', I just ended up with a bunch of little kids who barely know how to download a addon for GMod lol. You can't really make friends through steam, because its not very personal, and besides, when ever I am mapping or 3d modelling, I disconnect my internet to stop all distractions, but my fb text's me, so I can read it and reply in my own time without feeling like I am ignoring everybody, I'm trying to keep mapping away from gaming, or you end up with a bunch of kids fighting with eachother on all of your servers.

Yea I've sorta had a suspicion that this was a spam profile as soon as I saw it... Small picture (big indicator here)unwillingness to show steam profile, the whole part about not knowing anyone else who maps and feeling like a geek, too many "lols", picture and name seem strange for a mapping site, etc. not a spamBOT or course, but maybe just someone who tries to get you interested in a product or website. If Stacey Starr is not a spammer, then count me wrong, but I have a strong feeling that whoever is behind that is a spammer.

I'm also a tech support guy on davoonline so if there are bots or suspicious people I tend to delete their posts if it becomes clear they are bots.

They [Stacey Starr] do have a Steam account, they do have Source SDK Base 2007, but they do not own Portal, Portal 2, or CSS according to their steam profile. At least, that is according to the profile I found that matches "Stacey Starr" [the only one]. I don't know about you guys, but someone who talks about making maps for CSS but doesn't own it on Steam is highly likely to be a spambot, albeit a crafty one at that.
