@CamBen: You shoud make those brush based pipe 90 degree turns more smooth. Now it looks like you've just clipped them in 45 degree angle. You can do this with torus brush tool.

Oh man I'm terrible at that tool XD but i'll give it another go, it definitely would look better than what I have.

Edit: Nevermind, apparently I already had a preset in place from last time I made brush pipes.

Here's something from a project that I do just because I agreed to do it 3 years ago.

A quick art test based on some old Portal 2 concepts.

Also, thanks jose! That means a lot to me.

That looks really cool! I especially like the addition of the orange panels. maybe you could add those yellowish offices along the upper walls. Those add some sort of controlled/aperture feel to them.

Well, I would definitely take more advantage from the lighting coming from the upper hole on the ceiling instead of spotting that corridor with the observatioon room lighting :p However, it really looks neat ...and somehow, I like how the clean chamber blends with that shy destruction! Risky though, I hope that you keep the same good balance in the rest of the level.

I'd also suggest you to test different light mood; I mean the current cold look fits great with that cleanness, but the bits of destruction would make me try a warmer atmosphere... try both approaches before deciding...

Also AMAAAAAAAAAAZING custom water material!

I always have trouble getting lighting for the ceiling to look right, but I do agree.

And thanks, ITS SO AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING!

Few wip screenies from Portal 1 testchamber and I'm very sure you'll recognize which one of those.

Do you have a dirty Companion Cube model? You might want to fix the wall on the right, that wall model probably shouldn't be inside the wall.

I personally think it looks alright. Gives it a more realistic feel, like there's broken framework jutting out.

I believe there's a dirty Companion Cube skin in Retrospective, or another Omnicoder map?
