Portal 2 is a game with lasers in it. That is a map with lasers in it. A map with lasers in it must belong to a game with lasers in it. Ergo that is a map for Portal 2.

Well this place is so dead anyway so I wouldn't mind if someone posts screenshots from their maps, even it's not from Portal.

Super charged energy ball
destroys cubes and other physics objects that touch it, except for charged cubes. charged cubes destroy regular energy balls that touch them.

Custom particles by moi of course

Let's start a Portal 1 trend!
Lately, I've been trying to finish this map up: (Been working on it periodically since... 2012 I think, now I'm trying to push through)

Here's a more recent one, pretty wip: (made in June)

Immediately breaking the trend, I've also got some TF2 stuff! #sorry
||CTF_dauphin is an a/d ctf map that I've been working on for atleast two months now. The map takes place next to the ocean (not sure which type of beach it will be yet) with an emphasis on ocean cliffs, overhanging structures, and heights.
The main objectives of the map revolve around little "watchtowers" lined up by the shore to watch the sea.

Creating it has been pretty laborious so far, since ctf a/d maps are hard to come by; it's sort of an uncharted gamemode that I love. The first alpha of the map hasn't even been released yet (I've had 13 internal alphas already!), but I'm really excited about it. So yeah, just really wanted to post this here. Sorry

^The narrative here is that someone used a ladder to put up a poster and that the locker is wearing a fez

Hey if you're mapping for portal 1, feel free to design chambers for my mod XD add me on steam if you want.
Those chamber look quite nice too, I've always liked the portal 1 style

I had something similar done except player can shoot energy ball wherever aims. Though its very glitchy and doesnt work so well.

I tried something similar at one point, although I couldn't think of many puzzles with it so I abandoned it after a while (reusing the effect for the mid-air portal gun). I never got the fizzling to be particularly consistent, as you can see in the video.

For mine, they are going to be used in a rexaura styled test with those cube positioner things, but they won't be restricted to any certain direction, plus different cubes and different balls will interact, and most tests will not have these as central elements.

Sorry to break the trend of Energy Ball guns, which look pretty cool, btw, but I've started to get back into mapping, or at least I hope to continue to make more. The map below is really just an overall style test, and is in a huge WIP stage, atm. The chamber itself is rather simplistic and really doesn't really have any new and unique test elements about it. Nonetheless, here's what I have.

I'm thinking of trying to make more challenging puzzles in a similar style after this one.

That style looks really cool, it reminds me of a mix of art therapy and the destroyed chambers in the first chapter of singleplayer.

Thanks. That's actually kind of what I was hoping to hear. I tried to take a little bit from every style, art therapy, bottomless pits, and a destroyed/reconstructing look as well. I should hopefully be able to finish this up within the next week or so.

Wow RubyCarbuncIe, that looks awesome, I love that you put the yellow plastic wall behind the broken off bits rather than the typical squarebeams, looks great, i'm a huge fan of the art therapy, reconstructing and sort of half-finished but clean styles. Always love peeks in to the behind the scenes.

Must have gotten posted at the same time I last posted my comment after yours. (Looking back, that sentence sounded better in my head) Or, my trip to the restroom mid reply was longer than I thought. Nonetheless... starts Neurotoxin

Seriously, thanks though. I plan to continue it, and since people like the way it looks more like it.

Thanks. I felt just leaving all of the space behind the walls as an endless void, (like in the a4 style) wouldn't have looked as interesting. This way it still reveals how open Aperture can be while still feeling very closed in and attached to the hallways and rooms of the facility.

Looks really neat, RC. Don't forget to put red lights by the laser and buttons - little colorful accents like that can make a chamber look really nice. On the same note, have you thought about adding more recessed lights?
