I lost interest in Portal 2 mapping a while ago, but here is an unfinished WIP anyways:

Thank you to anyone still left here for making this game fun while it lasted.

Yeah! Toaster, it looks very very well detailed, with just the perfect lighting, and puzzlewise it looks very interesting and promising!

Please (EVERYONE!) try to finish what you start! :p

I don't know why, but I encourage you to continue mapping, mate... if you want to continue mapping at all. You have been improving yourself very quickly, not only about the Hammer editor, but puzzlewise as well. To me, there's no need to move on to mapping for a different game, I think Portal2 is really complete and I enjoy every second I spend mapping and creating.

Whatever you do, cheers!

Thanks for the compliments. It's possible that I could finish at least that chamber because I don't want to see it wasted. Originally it was going to have 3-4 puzzles, but I remember I found a huge exploit in the puzzle that would require me to remake almost everything.

You could just play it cool and say it's like portal 1 and has alternate solutions. I mean, look at how fast chamber 14 can be solved with the floor portal in front of the victory lift.

Oh c'mon dude, don't give up, i like your maps , if you don't want to remake the entire chamber find a way (if possible ) to incorporate to the puzzle.

Yes, that always happens. With Portal Stories we're currently finishing things up, and highly tested, polished levels still sometimes give new solutions, after being worked on for literally years. Sometimes you have to be realistic: Is it a problem that there is another solution, does that solution also make the player feel smart?

There are speedrunner solutions that require all kinds of mad skills normal players don't have. We feel that we do not need to 'fix' those solutions. Normal players won't even think of those kinds of solutions, whilst speedrunners can enjoy those kinds of solutions.

And the last thing: Sometimes the exploit can actually better than the puzzle itself. One of my favorite puzzles I ever made is completely based off an unintended solution to another map.

tl;dr: don't worry about unintended solutions, embrace them! As long as the player still feels smart about himself at the end of the level!

Nah Portal is pretty dead.

No reason to make maps for it you don't want to.

Even if portal would be still very active, no reason to make maps if you don't want to!

This is a map i am working on at the moment that is inspired by TombRaider. When i started making this map, i ran into a lot of errors i had never come across before. I thought that i was trying to be to ambitious, there was a lot of displacement work that hammer did not like. So i owe a huge thank you to Josepezdj and his mod Propper. A lot of the displacement work i turned into models, allowing me to make the map the way i had envisioned it.There are a lot of custom materials as well as sounds. Hope you like the screenshots.

Looks great, but I'm not sure about the tree in the middle of the 4th picture. It looks a little strange growing right through the middle of the test floor, especially because there isn't much sun hitting it in the picture.

Edit: I just noticed it's also the companion cube chamber. Looks so much different with all the foliage.
