Epic Introduction Thread
With something approaching 4500 maps in my workshop directory (and an extremely borked queue - takes about 30 mins before new downloaded maps will appear) and currently on page ~360 in the top rated of all time list I thought I'd sign up. I tend to skip anything too turret infested and look for logic puzzles.
I haven't yet made a map (mainly because I don't think I could be as creative as I'd like to be) but I appreciate the efforts of people here who do, many of them are on my favourites list.
Hello.
i love you
I'm some loser dude that's slowly becoming more and more frustrated with PTI. Downloaded hammer, made the best cube-shaped room ever, and hoping to make actual tests soon. I'm pretty stupid though, so don't expect much yet.
Hope there's no tests that I have to solve to become a worthy enough mapper
I'm fan of the Portal series since the first episode and i've been interested in the mapping/modding for a long time.
I now have some spare time to learn how to use Hammer and I'm working on my first maps on the PTI puzzlemaker, and modifying it with Hammer.
I've been reading your stuffs for a few months and now I might have some questions to ask and some WIP to show. Hope you'll like it
Keep testing !
I'm not sure how many times I completed Portal 1 & 2. Very often at least.
I made one map. One single map on which have been working 100+ hours.
Starting with PeTi and now ending with Hammer it has been redesigned a lot.
I joined the community to publish the finished map in a few day and collect some feedbacks.
As a big fan of the Portal series I'm also open for everything else this site has to offer.
No idea who much I'm going to involve myself into this community.
Looking forward to find out...

I enjoy playing video games, my favorite video games are Portal, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Audiosurf and the Half-Life series. I am quite interested in level design.
I enjoy listening to electronic music genres such as Hardstyle, Hardcore, Trance, Hands Up and a lot of other electronic music genres. I also enjoy listening to Classical music, New-age music and solo piano music. I am a music producer although I am still inexperienced at it.
I am a huge fan of anime!
In addition to gaming and modding, I make music ( https://soundcloud.com/helloron ) and I write ( http://instantsomething.com/ ), and I spend a lot of time working in theatre (acting, directing, and stage managing).
Hey everyone,
Long time coming, but since registration is finally back, I have now been able to make an account so I can contribute to the forums!
I've been modding for a while, source engine as well as some COD WAW stuff and Minecraft, though only really done Portal 2 in the past years. I'm really into graphic design, so if texturing needs to be done, I'm your guy.
Anyways, a sample of my work has been posted in the The ThinkingWithPortals Map Showcasing Thread
already, but here it is again:

I grew up on the central coast of California where you really could "surf" your life away... and I practically did XD. I had a childhood friend who got me into video games, it all started back in the day with that bloody Nintendo hahaha! From there, it later progressed to Half-Life, TFC, TF2, Portal, and so on. TF2 and Portal are usually what I play these days. After playing so many Portal Mods and Campaigns, my interest has turned toward map creation. I haven't had the time to learn Hammer yet, so I'm just using the PTI Puzzle Creator for now. There's so many talented portal players and map designers here- I'm looking forward to learning from you all. Cheers!!
I also do some stuff with music composing sometimes, but not often; mainly piano.
I hope I get to know all of you, and I'm excited to learn from the other level designers!
I'm now a big Portal fan and I love mapping for this game. I recently started working on custom prop textures / prop recompiling and stuff like that. This forum helped me a lot in the making of my maps so, I thought I'd join it
Will be more than happy to share my hobby with you guys!
You say that I've been in a state of extreme stupidity for several years where I was super edgy and did horrible things and was generally not a quality poster in the slightest??
And the TWP servers are back online??
I guess I should properly introduce myself, then!
New Me will be around shortly.
I've been mapping in Source for several years, letting it slowly consume my soul. Happy to see the website alive again!
I'm quat, and I'm a PTI mapper. Yeah yeah I know. Maybe I'll jump in and finish a Hammer map some day, but for now I am happy with the looks and especially the fast turnaround time mapping on "easy mode" gets me...
Speaking of easy mode, my puzzles typically aren't
so if you're interested in a real challenge come check out my workshop. I'm closing in on 200 maps and upload frequently, usually at least once every two weeks or so. I recommend Lasersys, Express, Ultravisitor, Coacervate, and my entry into tuleby's "chocolate puzzles" series Nodezsh.
