Yeah, not sure where you got $20, it's just $10. Honestly, it's the best value out there, given that its replayability is proportional to the size of your music collection.

As for rental: not likely. It's only available for digital download. It would be impossible to make a profit by distributing a game on a disc at retail for $10, That means that it would cost more and you would have to go out and buy it. No game distributor is going to do that, sorry.

It's been said that it should be ported to XBLA and whatever the PS3 has that is equivalent, which sounds pretty good but would also require a credit card.

Well, sure. Almost all ambient music is like that. I surfed Mona Lisa Overdrive by Juno Reactor (it was in The Matrix, you'd recognize it if you heard it, look it up), which I remember being a very complex and tense song. But it is also quite slow by itself.

Yeah, most of the orange box soundtrack is slow. Pick something REALLY ambient though and it'll go really fast. AudioSurf seems to scale itself quite well. So if your song really has no peaks or valleys and is overall very minimal...it'll just start ripping through it. There won't be a lot of traffic though. Traffic needs noise...so ambient works pretty well with the Mono vehicles.
