Look at what is located under the root\portal\materials\models\props_facemovie\wet_floor_sign folder of the portal content GCF. I'm wondering if it's really used somewhere as an easter-egg or not.

It is for real Only a VTF though - no VMT.

Thus, it doesn't appear in Hammer's material browser.

Why just limit this texture to the GCF?

I don't know how to model, so they are just made out of brushes. The big one is too big to be picked up, but the small one can.

Edit: There is another texture in the GCF which is VTF only, called briefcase_blue. It looks a bit cartoony, so it could have been put in here by mistake instead of going into the TF2 GCF.

Hah, so that's where that came from. One of my friends at school has that as his background on his laptop. Someone at Valve is obviously a 300 fan.

There is another unused one that I found yesterday called garagegroundmarking01f. It doesn't have the portal keyword so it won't show up when you search for that. Could hint at a garage area which was not put into the final game.

If people didn't have hammer, why would they be interested in mapping stuff on a mapping website?

that, sir, is an easy answer. cuz you don't need hammer to play custom maps! and... if you're already here downloading maps. you may be curious about the mapping community even if you don't map.

This is not an easter-egg, this texture is used many times during the BTS parts of the game. And if there's "garage" in it's name, it's mostly because it's a texture that comes from counter-strike source, cs_assault (if my memory isn't tricking me)
