Based on the Portal: The Flash Version (http://portal.wecreatestuff.com/)
This Mappack brings all of the 40 levels plus some more originals.
The story takes place before the events of Portal and shows you the enrichment center from another perspective.
This mappack includes ALL 40 levels from the Flash version, additional bonus levels and features. All together, we've got here over three and a half hours of amazing gameplay.

Features:

  • Based on Portal:TFV
  • More than 40 test chambers.
  • Level design similar to the original Portal style
  • Level difficulty is balanced, like the original
  • New gameplay elements, such as the Electric Floors, Crushers, Blue and Red frizzles from the Flash version
  • Isn't a test chamber after a test chamber, much more than that.
  • Awesome storyline that connects to the Portal and the Half life 2 story
  • Epic moments.
  • Boss battle.
  • Epic ending.
  • The longest custom map so far, at least as far as I'm aware.

*More info in the readme.txt

And from the download database: http://forums.thinking.withportals.com/dload.php?action=file&file_id=213

I would like to say Thanks especially to this community you've helped me a lot.

Have fun.

That was pretty awesome; well done.

It took my just under 2.5 hours to complete from start to finish.

The puzzles progressed logically with a god level of difficulty without every becoming frustrating. The new gameplay elements also worked well.

The visuals were polished, with only a couple areas being overly bright or overly dark.

There were a few things that bugged me though, or didn't play out how I would have expected:
- There are a number of portable surfaces that are only portable AFTER they move, and not before - that bugged that crap out of me.
- By the end of the map, the little holes that you had to portal through were so abundant that it was hard to understand how the area was laid-out and what very buttons were activating, etc.
- You deactivate the portal gun and then reactivate it in the cake room, which didn't make sense and drove me mad, I had no idea what was going on. Also, the fact that the lift isn't portable until the last second also made no sense.
- The boss was an awesome surprise, though once he got to the last room, he proceeded to kill himself while I stood behind a truck. Intended?
- It's disappointing that you can't choose which section of the map you want to start from after beating it. It would have been nice to have each map section unlock after completing it like with the original portal.

There were a few other small issues, but nothing overly important.

Once again, very well done - it's not just a map, it's an experience.

I agree with taco on the problems in the map pack ("Map Pack" is an understatement, almost an alternate storyline). There was also one point where a door unlocked after you pushed a button that logicly wouldn't have unlocked it when you load the cores onto the ship

The final ending was very, very well done, very rare that you get an adrenalin rush in portal

||the only problems I had with the end boss was its speed, in the beginning it was moving correctly but in the area with the boxes i managed to get about a 2 min lead, I'm not sure if you can but it would be nice to have the boss speed up if the player gets too far ahead. And like taco said the boss tends to kill its self too easily (although i understood that you wanted us to kill it with the orbs)

the ending scene with the gun getting destroyed and (my favorite) the gun ship was very well done, I think the time frame you put portal in is the right one ||

overall I give it a 11 out of 10, while it had some minor errors around they were hardly comparable to the errors in many other maps, and the creativity, length, innovations and flow more than confiscate

That was great. Took me a while. Amazing job with the boss, and the GLaDOS voices were great. The last test chamber was just confusing, and I didn't really enjoy that, but everything else was really fun. I loved the room with all the Chell clones. A couple of points where it was hard to determine what buttons did, but that was minor.

Thanks guys
I know there are some problems in a few spots but even after a lot of beta testing there will always be problems, especially in a big map like this (See portalmap.JPG in the zip file to see the size of the map )
Browen have you waited for GLaDOS to finish speaking? you'll get the Portal gun after she's done.
I will respond to everything you guys said specifically tomorrow.

Sleep mode activated.

Oh... My.. Fucking... Gawd.

This is NOT what i was expecting. i was expecting a "side scrolling" type of game (like that what was going on here) but this? oh my gawd man.

you should have prepared us. i didn't relize it was going to be this. basically its like a complete game. just with a smaller learning curve (ie: assumes you can portal)

i have nothing bad to say. and don't want to say to much "good" (even in spoilers) cuz i don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played this yet. but if you haven't...

GO DO SO NOW!

also: this must be spotlighted.

I totally agree with you, this was like Portal epicness of its own game

This deserves some sort of reward for the degree of pure win

Mr. Hen - You have done an amazing job!
Except for the last chamber with the tiny little windows (which can get very disorienting very fast), this "pack" (which took me longer to beat than the original game) was friggin' awesome. You should totally apply for a job with Valve and use that thing in your portfolio ))

One more thing, and a bit unrelated, but I'm guessing from your name (and from your website's admin's name) that you're from Israel. Is that right?
If you are, you've made me very proud

Ah nothing better then waking up and seeing your reviews.
infernet89, You can play the pack, but get ready to see a lot of ERRORS and missing textures.
goal2004, Yeah, I am.
Anyway guys, Do you have any idea how to spread and publish the map? I don't want it to die after a few days.

Send a link to the Portal team at Valve and see if they can promote it on the Steam home page?

Awsome job Hen. A ton of new and well thought out puzzles.

I'd give it 9.5 out of 10.

The only thing I didn't care for was that the shooting through the wall holes got a bit repetative towards the end, and there weren't many graphical frills (inset lighting, etc. Or I don't recall seeing much of this anyway.)

Excellent job though, lots of fun to play and takes a good while to complete.

I'm not sure how it would get there, but I'd try to get it up on this page. Maybe email the admins or someone?
