Whee, beeping away a lot of words from the first Portal trailer.

Not funny. Not at all. I have Tourette's syndrome for real, so I can't really laugh about it.

I thought it was very clever, and that we shouldn't avoid thinking it's funny because someone wants sympathy/feels insulted. But that's just me.

Actually I think it makes it kind of funnier.

Thinking the Tourette's syndrome is funny and laughing about anyone suffering from it will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your testing record, followed by verbal punishing.

It. Isn't. Funny. I'm not asking for sympathy, but I do feel insulted. Do you have any idea how hard it is to suffer from Tourette? Especially the way all the people that surround you glance at you if you suffer from an attack.

Now I must say that I don't suffer from the swearing-variant. Instead I cough all the time, which is equally disturbing, for both me and my enviroment. I just don't think it's funny. If you think otherwise, that's your mind.

That's why tons of TV shows and movies have had comic relief in the form of a swear-spouting Tourette's syndrome person. If you can't laugh at yourself, life is going to be a lot harder.

It will? I found it to be pretty hard so far.

Please, let us end this discussion. If you ever meet me in real life, feel free to laugh about my Tourette's. But not here, not on a forum that's about portal and not about syndromes, for GLaDOS' sake!

Fair enough.
