How do you get the Portal Gun in Half-Life 2? I saw this video [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKg3TUPQ8Sg] and I wanted to have a portal gun in HL2.

Is there anything else I need to extract, or will it work ok if I use the maps like bonus maps?

make a scenes folder inside it, and check your console, if it says things like "cannot find wav file blahblah.wav" or something like that, then it means it cant find the hl2 sound files

Could I somehow install Portal to a second directory and Copy the HL2 GCFs and replace the portal GCFs with the HL2 GCFs?

The WHAT Engine?!? lol

so, I guess I couldn't install a second copy of portal with one installation of steam. I would have to make a second installation of steam in a second Directory and install portal there.

I did exactly what I was told to do (by this forum thread and 1 other site) and the sound still didn't work.
