awwww... the bug with the see-through texture was fixed once. I thought it was because of nodrawing some brush sides touching the see-through brush, but then I fixed it and the problem was gone... now I see that I used the wrong texture, thanx for the hint... the bug seems to be random, as when I tested it before final release, everyhting worked fine
Also, the upside-down camera is not a bug, it's a feature I wanted to have concrete walls because I like them more, and I wanted the cameras not to be detachable by the player; they are supposed to open the door on the other side of the chamber. So I made a metal ceiling and attached the cameras to it

omg...I'm having some trouble in the room with 4 turrets and the big fizzler in the middle....I just can't get that damn box...I just thought you could place a portal at that platform the box hits when it falls...but you can't...although the surface looks like you could...is that just a bug or is there another solution that I simply missed to see?

oh and pls don't tell me the solution...just answer my question pls ^^

you can't place the portal on this particular metal surface, even if it looks like a concrete one (that would be too easy ), but it is hard to give you a hint without spoiling the puzzle for you
well, what I can say now, is that you keep trying, you should be able to do something in no more than 10 pushes of the button
(I won't tell you what to do, you don't want to know)

i couldn't find a solution, but this is how i think you have to do it, i just couldn't

You press the button then grab the cube before the platform throws it into the grid, and then throw the cube into the hole where you can go in (I just couldn't manage to throw it )

I wouldn't mind knowing, because it is really annoying me, just put it in spoilers so people can see it if they want to.

When you get tho the part where you use buttons to rotate the platforms to get the ball in the catcher, the ball just bounces off the portals after it has been moved. Also, not letting me put portals on some portable surfaces bugged me.

@ultradude

Try walking with the cube... I assume you tried to throw it, but that'd be too simple

Hope this helps...

I love the map. It's made me do some really interesting and original things (like the above mentioned cube puzzle, for one example). And having played dozens of other custom maps, that's saying something.

I did want to point out a couple of bugs I noticed: I also noticed that the energy ball bounces off of portals that are placed on the angled surfaces. True, I might have been able to come up with a "ninja" solution to that room if it worked, but it was a little odd. All I was actually trying to do at the time was fling the ball at the turret. If you wanted to keep the angled panels off limits for portals, you would be better off making them metal. Speaking of which, I found the checkered metal texture to be confusing as well, sorry - I didn't notice the difference between it and the normal concrete and it just seemed like a mistake. In the room with the acid pit and the fizzler wall, I could consistently get trapped by placing a portal on the wall below me and then walking into the area above it. I suddenly find I can't move or even create new portals anywhere. It was pretty strange. I attached a screengrab to better explain what I'm talking about.

At the moment, I'm still stuck in that room, actually - I've tried flinging myself from a number of different locations, but none seem to be positioned right to get me across the gap.

Well, the energy ball puzzle has bugs because the ball bounces in weird angles, I don't know why (I also mentioned it in readme, as a known bug). About that checkerboard texture - I had two beta testers and noone found it confusing... probably the map needed more betatesting.

I recognize the room. But do you mean "stuck" as "stuck", or are you just unable to find a solution? If the latter is the case, send me a PM, I will provide you with a solution if you like.
Thank you for your feedback, it's appreciated.

I saw that in the readme and was watching out for it - I did notice the ball doing a couple of odd bounces but didn't worry too much about it as it's clearly already known. I thought that the way it bounces directly off of portals instead of passing through them might have been a separate issue.

I meant stuck as in frozen, as in I cannot move at all, the portal gun fails to work and I am forced to reload. I would have chalked that up to a random glitch, but I seem to be able to replicate it in that area.

I am also stuck in that room as a separate issue, so I will PM you for a hint.

This is a known bug with Portal not anything with your map. If you have a ledge that has a portal-able wall on the side like this:

____
    | <-Portal
    |
    |

and the player puts a portal right at the top of the wall and they stand right on the edge, they get "stuck" behind it and can't move. To remedy this, you need to put 16 unit high portal bumpers at the top of the ledge so the portal gets bumped down enough that they can't get stuck on it.

...never knew that, Remmiz, and thanks for clearing that up.
Also I am GLaD that this is not my map's fault

well i finally got around to playing this. really liked it. but as the others have pretty much already said i didn't like seeing "portal-able" textures that i couldn't portal onto. you said they were different textures. but to similiar to the retail "portal-able" textures that i didn't like it aside from that it was really cool

i ESPECIALLY liked the puzzle where you have to grab the cube through the glass, before the platform knocks it off, and walk it around to the hole and drop it in very clever and new puzzle concept without having to invent/create anything new. (as in new programming or such) i could see a puzzle like this being used in multiple ways, maybe having to traverse the cube over a longer distance, possibly under fire; or move it between moving platforms and such. many possibilities here

only thing that had me a little stumped at first was that i got all the way up that upward tunnel, and had the three switches (with the angled platforms you use to bounce the energy ball i was trying to find a way to get it to bounce without cubes. because we had to go so "far" without the cubes that i forgot i had them down there. but ultimately i went back and got them

Nice map! Looks nice, plays pretty nicely.
If I were to mention a couple of specific things, it would be these:
1) Kind of weird layout of maps. Didn't seem very Aperturey at some parts, e.g. the sewage floor area where you have to use a cube (or two?) as steps...not much room and kind of weird glass placement
2) No texture at bottom of the pit above fizzler.
That's about it though. You had some interesting puzzles!

Thanks for your post. No worries about that nodrawn face, it is intentional. The player is never supposed to get there and see it, so the texture shouldn't be there. But, apparently, some people, as seen before, actually managed to get there If I knew that, I could have prepared some extras for you

A great map, with fun and unique puzzles. I especially liked the part where you have to solve multiple puzzles with the three companion cubes... It took a while for me to realize how you're supposed to get the second cube in the first chamber (from the tilting platform). It's not entirely obvious that you can carry the cube through the gap in the wall... But anyway, a very good and polished map.

This is a great map. Did anyone else notice the G-man shadowing you through the map?

Welcome to TWP. 'Round these parts, people sometimes get sensitive if you put sort-of hidden stuff like that (or puzzle solutions) out in the open, so we have a spoiler tag for just such an occasion.

||G-man|| is a ||douche||

which comes out something like

G-man is a douche

(Mouseover to reveal.)
