StoryLines for Portal

I think there's been a thread like this before but I did a reaal quick search and couldn't find anything.

Most Portal maps use the standard GlaDOS background story.

Why not place npc figures in the observation rooms and make them talk? Pre-GlaDOS, where people run the tests, not the computer.

Or perhaps a very far away section of the Aperture labs, where they attempted to make 2 or more super-AI-Computers work together.

I had the Gman following the player through my map so he doesn't feel alone :razz:
in the original game I always looked at the observation rooms looking for someone but never saw anyone so why would the observation rooms be there if noone used them :question:

I guess they were installed before GlaDOS. So people could also take a look inside the test chamber without camera's.

Besides, with mapping, the observation windows appear to be excellent light sources.

A wake up with a real person in the observation saying 'Goood morning...' would be interresting.
