I can't grasp the concept you're supposed to love the Companion Cube. I've completed that level by simply just carrying the cube around, and realized I was stupid, so when it came to the incineration part, I was like "Finally. Now go to the fires of Cube Hell."

At least this is not facepunch, where someone would fuck it up when we reached 5. The maximum i've seen them get in there is to 13
This'll be easy.

Nope - we're off by 1 hour. When you once mentioned it was 01:50, in my time zone that was 02:50

Yeah, I didn't really love the Weighted Companion Cube at first, but as time went on, it gradually became a friend to me.
Think like this, You're trapped in a lab, alone, no friends, no family, no scientists prodding and poking you, just a big talking computer which gives you a box with hearts on it. What'r you gonna do?

Time travel to 2999, then, 2 years later, manage to convert that big talking computer into a human being, eventually marry her and live long and happy.
EDIT: I wrote that because you seem to want to know the whole story about GL@DDA Magnet and the Portal: The 4th Millennium universe.
