Faceposer Extraction Issues w/ Win7

It seems that everybody with windows 7/vista cannot use the extraction functions in faceposer. Even though there is a fix, it still doesn't work for me. I followed [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R38qlnow6eI&feature=related[/youtube] on using the faceposer for lip syncing and when I hit re-extract...it just says error occurred.

Any ideas? I AM using the modified phonemsextractor.dll

I prefer to avoid the hassle and use a VM.

Yeah you can install XP in VirtualBox and use it inside 7.

Awwww I am so low on space. I am not sure if I will be able to fit XP without deleting games/movies/Adobe stuff/porn (=P)

You don't need pirated Adobe programs anyway.
Mine is only using 7gb.

EDIT: Alright so I got my old XP CD out and got this working in minutes (very nice) but how do I access steam inside the virtual XP? or do I have to install all that stuff in there too.

I did that and then I pulled my GCF's for portal and source SDK in there but now steam doesn't launch.

You'll need to copy the entire steam folder into the vm, selective copying won't work.

And XP mode is for [7] professional edition only, which I doubt he wasted the money on.

Actually I have the ultimate one. My dad's work shut down so he got to take a few copys from the warehouse. =D And an awehsum honda generator! It's mad silent! (offtopic I noe)

Just to clarify for anyone who may not know, apparently lipsyncing/phenoeme extraction doesn't work on anything later than XP because, I believe, it requires either the MS Speech SDK or a certain DLL contained therein that isn't packaged with Vista/Win7.

Sorry for the double post the edit button wont work atm.

Anyways I just went though all this bull just so I can use the phonemextractor and now faceposer doesn't want to run in my virtual XP Omg!! >_<

Are you guys positive there is absolutely NO solution?

I believe it's a copyright issue; as a result, I don't think VALVe can legally directly distribute the file[s] along with the SDK. Obviously, it's fine to download the file and stick it in there, but that's legality for you.

I mean like...don't you think they would notice it? A billion posts per day about one topic involving faceposer...I know I would want to fix it.

That's the thing; I'm not sure whether it is illegal or not. It might be that it only comes packaged with more expensive versions. Or not.
