Toxic/Panels problem
I am new to map making. I just started for few days and I have two question.
The first problem is that when I am using toxic. I am using nature/toxicslime002a.
As you can see in this screenshoot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27080355@N07/5737144425/ ... I am trying to put a toxic in the hole. It?s just like it disappear. And then I put a trigger into the toxic that does 100 dmg. The trigger works fine. If I jump into the hole I will die. Does anyone know what might be wrong with the toxic?
The second problem is the Panels. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27080355@N07/5737221239/
When the button is OnPressed, the panels open but they always close after 1 or 2 seconds, even though the button is still OnPressed.
Guess i?m just doing some newb mistakes but I hope you got some answers for me
(I'm also interested in a solution for this
)
The panels have a simple fix:
Go to the panel and set Hold Animation to Yes, this keeps the panel in it's position

You've got a leak for that toxic water. You need create a container for the water using brushes. Think of it like you're making a small pool. The toxic water texture is what fills it up. Make sure the texture stays within the pool's boundaries too.

Where did you find these fancy moving panels? ... and... everything that could move? I could use these too.
Go to prop_dynamic search for "arm" in the world model browser and you will find them!
http://www.tophattwaffle.com/?p=2655 has a nice tutorial on how to use panels, if you want more information

Don't use hold animation, just change the default animation to the idle open
I wrote 90deg_cornerfront_idle in the Default Animation, just like he did in this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5na8Llhk8k
What do you mean when you say "to the idle open"?

Now I made a small pool just for fun. The water it does not seems to leak and when I jump into the pool I can hear a watersound. But the strange thing is that I cant see any water

So in this time it does not leak... but have you any idea what the problem might be? A bug?
