Kinda easy, but nice maps. Well built structure.

However there are some critics. If you hadn't said before hand in this description here that there are two puzzles i would have ended the map before getting to it, try not to use the elevator if it isn't for an actual ending.

In the paint puzzle it seems like there are some things for no apparent reason. Also it would have made the map a bit harder if we were suppose to shoot the blue gel somewhere, and not made it prepainted on the walls.

Yes, I was worried about the elevator. But I did want both parts in the contest and I dont know how else you would get to the paint puzzles.

Which things is there for no apparent reason?

Here's the first impression you get from the map:

Target invisible from blue portal, unemployed second cube: that screams vengeance in the face of map's quality afterwards. And it really is a good map, with the return of the crow already a personal favorite of mine, and appropriate puzzles. Just fix those humble beginnings, and side notes: you can see the holstered gun when you look down, and this puzzle's long version (orange speed + double sling) is so cooler than the short alternate one (simple sling on the right) that you may want it exclusive.

About people disconnecting upon seeing the elevator: maybe have the tremors\fire as you approach it, to hint at something.

To add to this, if you fall into the water before you pick up your portal gun, you respawn with the gun clearly in your hands as if you were actually holding it, but it's disabled. Just some things to look out for. But well done overall. I especially liked the catwalk and the elevator scene.

Good feedback.
I didnt know you could do that in the first puzzle.
About the gun: I used the player_weaponstrip, but as you said you can still see the gun, is there any other way to take away the gun?

About the paint puzzle, I tried to avoid the "cheat" but It made the proper way not as good. I guess I should change it though.

Ok, I fixed everything except that paint puzzle I think, any ideas on how I can prevent the "cheat"?

*ok I kinda solved that problem too...

I had a weird buggy issue. When I got the portal gun I placed a portal for me to enter on the horizontal surface near the blue gel, but when I jumped into it I 'drowned'. I think there is a slight bug with the engine when a portal is in such close proximity to water. Perhaps consider raising that surface slightly?

I only died once, but the second time I jumped through I had a moment were I seemed to be underwater, then I made it through the portal fine. It was only for a split-second, but it was there.

Caret, please don't double (or in this case, quadruple) post. There is an edit button for a reason.

in the first picture i just realized what your initial plan was, but i was able to solve that part much easier. Instead of using the orange gel and that platform, i merely walked through the blue-wall-thing, shoot a portal in the top plate, one on the bottom and then jump in it.
You could stop this shortcut if you made the white floor tile a little further away.
In the second pic i just realized that it's a bug. That part of the lamps doesn't glow after activating the orange gel, i thought this part was fora possible blue gel or something(because iit just happened to be that blue gel drops on that part)

by the way, i forgot to say it in my first post, but i liked the inbetween part of apenture science.

That is fixed in the latest version.

That would create a new cheat, but its fixed now so it doesnt matter.

In that last section with the orange gel and the crushers, I missed the portal surface at the upper level, and only saw it after noclipping to look around. You need to make that more obvious. Otherwise the map was great.

I downloaded it again just now, and it seems to be the same. Did you not upload the fixed map yet?

same with me too, i think it's due to the bug on this website
you need to rename the file so that we can download the newest version
for example CaretCaret_v2.rar

I loved the transition and the aesthetics are good, but the puzzles themselves are rather easy
