Portal 2 Map Pimpage Thread

It would be spectacular if someone made a mod in newly made Cave-style. Of course I don't have time to do that, because of my multitude of projects.
Honestly I don't know how different it would look. The very first Cave chamber (the most well preserved I think) pretty much is Aperture at that point in time. Maybe clean water and shiny/chromier Enrichment Spheres, less broken crap..

I was thinking more like clean GLaDOS style in spheres.

But then it's not just newer Cave style, it's mashing Cave and Clean styles....

The red and blue is just your gel skins...right?
Yes.
Of course I'll need the map to test them....

I'm not sure why, but those gel skins are burning my lenses.

This isn't the first time you've mentioned colors burning your lenses... I'm no optometrist, but have you gotten that checked out or something?
Work in progress for the first part of 3 for the fun part of Layman's Terms. Went for Portal 1-esque sewers, and the door transitions to an almost entirely different area altogether.
Trying to make a nicely-lit destroyed room without a huge chasm in the ceiling (those chasms have to reach all the way to the surface to get light, and there are a lot of them everywhere. Do the math.).

Misaligned-ish texture in first picture? Not sure.

There's a misaligned texture down next to the water, and the ceiling will probably be changed. Was that what you were talking about?

I like the sewers, the chamber seems a bit weird to me, probably the wall with tiles is messing with me, but I like the lighting though!

I like the lighting in both; the second one might look odd but that's because of the absense of said hole, which is like a defining factor.
Anyway you can always do what I do: make the hole short, pretend the laws of physics allow it and don't use dynamic lights if you have multiple holes in close proximity.

That is exactly what I was talking about! I wasn't sure since I'm not familiar with Portal 2 textures.
WIP
Light rail is still missing the light rail, I'm kinda toying with making the light rail look sexy and not using that ugly P1 texture.
Also alpha on the stand is kinda fucked up, I have no idea why, so I am not still quite satisfied with that...
EDIT: Dont really judge the map, I'm not showing off the map, it's just place where I test stuff like this

I like the texture a lot! But I just don't like the idea of floating platforms in portal, IDK why, it just seems weird to me, but if you are able to make it pretty, I might change my mind

Aperture is full of weirder shit than that
True ^^ btw I think you should add the "beam" texture so it looks better.
