All rise for the SMG of liberty. I'm digging it. Is this going to be a combat scene, or are those actors stand-ins for the real deal to come? Either way, its a creative use of basically one of the few good Source wood textures (be careful not to overuse it; I did and it wasn't pretty).

This is a combat scene for sure, and is the start of one of the hardest levels in the game, save for the last mission which is a complete war zone. In any case, I'm using two wood textures in this room; the lower walls are one texture and the box is made of another, which is actually a door texture.

It's gonna be the best horrible map I've ever done.
I suspect "serious" members of the mapping community will likely still think its a huge load, but who cares. This map is gonna be the shit.

those who understand the comic should believe differently. :U

for reference, those nodraew boxes can be "hid" in. good for ambushes. also, this is just /bare brushwork/.
I've not even STARTED on the more complex doors, mechanisms and constructs this idolic map will contain.

I can practically hear the cries of a thousand mappers ringing in my ears. cries of happiness or anguish? I cannot tell

this is gonna be a pretty fun map for my server. I already have two people, eager to play it. Van from here, and my best friend.

next plan is to make a squirrel room. a circular room with lots of func_trains, with little squirrels tied to these trains. perhaps protecting the energy ball pellets.

It's better than I though, you should put triggers around the trains and if they're touched and env_explosion trigger... Or anything else that will kill the player in a horrifying way (Floor disappearing?)
