Wait, what are you talking about?

In all maps I've seen using this Gel, the gel bombs where either pink and black checkerboards or pure white- both of which are missing textures. So I was wondering if he fixed that, seeing as he managed to revert the colors of the repulsion and propulsion gels back to the original TAG colors.

Oh, that's easy enough to do. You need to clone an existing gel texture to "paintblobs/paint_bomb_stick" and change the color.

Pretty sure it uses code (or at least it used to) for the coloring. Because when we were making Blue Portals 2, Reep used a console command to make propulsion gel black.

Oh, it does, I'm referring to as it's falling. On the ground it has some fancy algorithms to make it look pretty, then it's colored by (in this case) portal_paint_color. You can't change the color without changing Conversion Gel's too, unfortunately.

Just don't have it and Conversion Gel in the same map?

Conversion Gel is hardly ever used anyways (or at least in my experience) so I wouldn't expect it to matter that much.

Back before Grox quit mapping, he could make amazing puzzles with conversion gel.

My first thought was that this was way too blue but when I actually looked at it I decided it was cool as duck.

I'm surprised more people haven't tried the "under construction" idea in detailing, it's pretty rad.

I'm not really sure how the board with the spray paint on it fits into the scene; the chambers are built by robotic arms.

If you need a justification, pretend that the map takes place in an alternate universe where humans built the chambers instead. Chances are humans built the ones in Portal 1 anyways, so why not? Aperture definitely has the resources.

Besides, I don't really worry much about being canon while making maps. I like to experiment and try new things, because not enough people are.

Yeah; you mentioned people didn't try the 'under construction' detailing. My sequitur (even though I was poor in my efforts to point it out) was that that kind of detailing isn't usually used in destroyed chambers.

It's looking quite good. I don't know how this map is going to be, but I think it would look better if the base (the rock) were a little bit larger. Looks like, if you're there, you may fall at any moment. But, again, I don't know how this map is going to be

Got bored yesterday. Started to make everything look like GamesCom 2010 a bit. I remade
the wall lights, made a new metal texture and ported some P1 stuff. Oh, also reskined
the Portal door, I dunno how to restore the door to it's former form we saw before it was released.

Yes, it is all one map.
