Alright I am legitimately going to make an effort to hang around this time.

Lot of changes recently, huh? I'm trying to catch up on some of the new SDK 2013 stuff and the site transfer and all those good things.

Also...uh...

So lucky...

I had the chance to try one of those for a minute just a few days ago and they are awesome.

I'm not saying they're stupid or bad or anything like that.

But VR is a total gimmick. Just like 3D and motion control. And Mac gaming. And gaming laptops.

And giant-ass phones. And videos on Instagram. And Postal III.

Say it all you like but you're the only person in the current group of people discussing who hasn't actually tried it.

Gimmick or not, I'd like to at least try it once. It could be fun. If I don't like it, back to a regular monitor, keyboard and mouse for me!

Unrelated note:
I'm officially almost completely moved out of my house now, meaning that I SHOULD be online a bit more often. Can't wait to talk you all again soon!

Amnesia doesn't support it, and because the devs are a butt, it probably never will. There are existing horror games for it, though. Haven't had the time or the guts to try them/it yet.

Guys, we need to talk about how shitty gamers are.

Example:
SimCity releases a Red Cross DLC that contributes 80% of the proceeds directly to the organization.
Everybody rages.

SimCity releases [something]. Everybody rages.

EA solves world hunger. Everybody rages. (this one didn't actually happen, but seriously. whaddup)

Borderlands 2 comes out with some new free character skins. Everybody rages.

EA is everything that is wrong with the games industry.

some notable examples are in this great open letter to them:

From what I gained from the video, this guy wants EA to become what is essentially and indie developer because he doesn't like how they are marketing games. While I'm not fond of the gamer stereotype, Dante's Inferno and Medal of Honour alone are not dooming the gaming industry by playing on it. It's a stereotype that's based on truth, though it is by no means an absolute. The recent influx of casual gaming will, in my opinion, collapse the stereotype just a little bit. It's also quite grating when he uses phrases like "we will stand with you" and "we were ready to fight with you" like all gamers agree with each other and would rally around a moderately successful youtube person to take on EA and have any effect whatsoever. That's not going to happen. EA has the right to do what they want as a company, and anyone who is angry that they aren't making games that "make you cry" is a little delusional.

Let's remember that people petitioned for the ending to Mass Effect 3 to be changed, and some were willing to pay for it to happen I believe. It's a ridiculous idea that we deserve a great game just given to us, and to get angry at the creators is stupid. Don't like it, don't play it.

TL;DR People have a right to their own opinion, and entitled gamers ruin it for everyone.

P.S The sped up voice thing sounds horrible.

Extra Credits is a pretty well-established game review channel. I've actually met one of the guys who started it and he said the reason for the sped up voice is that the first episode was for a project at school, and they had to fit it into a certain time limit - it was just over, so they sped it up a little to fit it in. When they started making more episodes, it just sort of stuck.

That being said I generally agree with their opinions, but it is important to remember that they are opinions. And when they say we, they usually mean their audience - other people who agree with their opinions, and a group which is fairly sizeable. If you watch some of their other videos, they have some really interesting analyses of video game tropes, mechanics, fundamental elements, etc.

Also EA sux.

So even when EA does something that isn't shit-faced we still have to boo it? My examples weren't all EA-based, either. Going to call all of you out on this (except Jomonay it would seem) and hypothesize that your generic "EA iz badsorz" dribbling regardless of the examples brought into question (that is to say, you're saying Valve is tha coolest eva because it released Portal 2, not on whether its maintained its spot on its high horse) is exactly the mentality that makes gamers asses.
